Susanne - Minty is off to the vets today so will spray her carrier although I think the spray has had little effect.

Sheila - Yes, she is lovely. She was actually considered the 'runt' of the litter and she was a scared little skinny kitten.

When we first had her (2 months old) she'd hide and cry and looked confused when we gave her food, treats and stroked her.

It didn't take her long to realise she was on to a good thing and here she is nearly 20 years later very much the lady of the manor.

I used to take a spray one when I put my boys into a cattery.  I used to spray some around the pen when we got there and asked them to spray some around it once a day.  The staff said they did seem to settle quicker compared to when I didn't take the spray.

Nothing on this PC, but from a post on here a few years ago...

So this is her as she was....not a lot has changed - just older and less likely to look at the camera!

Thanks for the replies.

The reason I bought spray rather than plug in was because I don't like to leave anything other than the necessities plugged in when out.

Minty hasn't disliked it after the first go. I know it won't work straight away, but we'll see how it goes.

I didn't know about the 'donation' but will keep it in mind  :naughty:

I'm starting to work out Minty's biggest issue is being needy. I think the physical medical issues are less than the mental ones. As soon as I am there, she is ok again. She just likes me to be around as much as possible which is just as well as my health issues mean i'm limited to 24 hours work per week at the  moment - good job I have decent savings!

My lot don't respond to Feliway, I use Pet Remedy instead. Just one spray is sufficient. If Minty doesn't like it don't use it again. In fact we have a Chritmas auction on here where you can donate your part used can.  :naughty:

I spray the carrier just a couple of times a while before using the carrier but often don't use it.  Perhaps I should have used for recent Billy vet visit but I digress.

I use plug ins.  Is there a reason why you got a spray rather than a plug in?

I've never used it around the house, but I do use it on the inside of the carrier before any journey Trigger's making in it, and then I spray about 6 times 10 minutes before he goes in - and that of course is in a very confined space

So, my Feliway spray has arrived today (well, Minty's Feliway, I haven't found one to try on me yet!)

So, how many sprays do I spray in her places?

It says to spray 15 mins before she gets there and it lasts 4-5 hours?

Thanks.
