Oh Karen words aren't enough to say how upsetting this is. We all got to know the beautiful Jas when she came into your life and ours through here. She brought a glow and something very special. You have loved her when noone else would and she chose you to be her mum cause she knew what a wonderful carring person you are. She gave you her trust with herself and her babies. You gave her the best, the security, love and care any stray needy cat would yern for.  Jas will always be with you, she will always be in your heart. Talk to her whanever you want cause she will hear. She will be your guardian angel, whatching over you and her babies from up on the bridge. No pain, only fun and happiness. One day you will be with her again, one day you will hear her purr again. What a day that will be hun.  :)
Sending you lots of hugs          Give a cuddle to the little ones for us, they will carry her sprit.

Jas have fun on the bridge sweetheart. We will miss you very much.  :Luv: :Luv: :Luv: :Luv: :Luv: :Luv: :Luv: :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:

Karen, I am so sorry - my thoughts are with you.     Jasmine was beautiful - you and her were blessed to have found one another and been able to share in her beloved babies.   You have done everything you possibly could for her and of course will do the same for her kittens.   Many cats never know such love, even for a short time.   Take care.

So sorry for your loss, Karen. You've done the kindest thing we can do for our cats, but parting is so sad.

She's playing on the bridge and snuggling into Bastet's tummy, safe and whole again. You gave her love and a safe loving home for her kittens.

Take good care of yourself. The kittens need you.

Very sorry to read this  :'(   What a shame she deteriorated but at least she's free from pain now and will be playing happily at rainbow bridge with the other bridge babes.  RIP Jasmine.

Thinking of you, karen   It must have been devastating for you but you did the right thing by Jasmine.  You cared for her so well when she had her babies and did everything possible for her following the attack.

Karen - my heartfelt and tearful condolences go out to you

What is important is that Jasmine had a very special mummy that she let into her life and who made her very happy.  Everything happens for a reason, and little Jasmine came to you carrying her precious babies, that you might care for and love them as much as she did, and in whom her spirit lives on  :)

She will watch over you and the kitties from the Bridge, and play there happily until you meet again.

Sweet dreams, Jasmine.

So sorry to hear the sad news Karen, it's a heartbraking decision to have to make but I'm sure you've done the right thing for her.  We are all here for you

The Greatest Gift

I always knew this time would come,
From the very instant our eyes first met.
How I loved you then! How I love you now!
I made a promise then, and I will keep that promise now...
You will not suffer from a pain that will not heal;
You will not know the loss of a life remembered, now gone.

It is for me alone to make this decision,
The price for the bright joy and pure laughter
You brought me during the time we shared.
I am the only one who can decide when it is time.
When my hope dies, and my fear rides high,
Just when I need you most, I must let you go.

It is for you alone to tell me when you are ready
For without your guidance, I will not know
When to lay my grief, my guilt, my anger
My sorrow and my selfish heart aside
And give you this last gift, this greatest gift.
Your eyes will speak to mine, and I will know.

The pain of this moment is excruciating.
Tears stream down my face in a river of sorrow.
And my heart drowns in a pool of grief.
For you have spoken and I have listened,
And unlike other decisions I have made
This one brings no relief...no comfort...no peace.

For if there´s one thing you´ve taught me,
If there´s only one thing I´ve learned...
Unconditional love has a condition after all,
I must be willing to let you go, when you speak to me
I must be willing to help you go, if you cannot go alone.
And I must accept my pain so you can be free of yours.

Go easily now, go quickly now,
Do not linger here, it is time for you to leave.
Go find your strength, go find your youth.
Go find the ones who've gone before you.
You are free to leave me now, free to let your spirit soar
Rest easy now, your pain will soon be gone.

I pray I will find comfort in my memories...
In the dark and lonely days ahead.
I cannot say I will not miss you, I cannot say I will not cry.
For only my tears can heal my broken heart.
But, I promise you this; as long as I live,
You will live, alive in my mind, forever in my heart.

So I give you this last gift, all I have left to give,
And this will be my greatest gift...sending you away.
It is the measure of my unconditional love...
For only the greatest love can say,
"Good-bye, go find the bridge, we'll meet again,
Loving you has been the greatest gift of all."

Very sad news I am afraid. Since Saturday Jasmine has deteriorated and she was PTS at 10am this morning.

My thoughts are with Karen as this was not an easy decision to make, however it was made by a loving mum who put her cat's needs before her own.  I know you will all support her during this difficult time.

Just caught up with this thread today and was worried cos it had grown so much.

Poor you Karen, you must be going through hell.

I do hope you manage to see the other vet, must say all those vets sound a bit like a gang!!

Personally I would want to be sure that she had been seen by an expert in the field cos all the other vets are assuming that the diagnosis of nerve damage is correct and your vet or another cannot refuse to refer you but time is of the essence now. I would also tell the new vets that this is an emergency and that Jasmine needs to be seen now cos you neeed a second opinion by someone who actually sees Jasmine.

I do hope that things go well for poor Jasmine and I agree sadly that if she stays how she is then you may have to make the sad decision.

This thread is breaking my heart , so goodness knows what it is doing for you.

We are all here for you and sending good vibes and if you want to talk lets us know or email me if you would like. I am sure many others have offered too.

Good luck to you and Jasmine  I am thinking of you both

I think we should all give karen time and space to deal with this and make up her mind.  We've all given the best advice we can as have professionals so as much as we all want to support karen which we can still do, but probably little point in repeating advice we have already given unless specific questions are directed our way.

Sorry if i sound like i'm speaking out of turn but if i were karen i think i'd need time to quietly take stock and gather some rational , logical reasonings before deciding what my next step should be.

and sorry if i have stepped on your toes karen that wasnt my intention but which ever way this turns we are backing you 100%.

Karen try not to give up yet. One of my cats, Sam, hangs her bum over the outside of the litter tray, thinking she's in the right place, and she's perfectly healthy. Some cats don't have good aim.
I would wait and get your vet to refer you; don't ask, INSIST! He hasn't sounded very interested from the beginning. I suspect he's more interested in large animals than pets.
Don't give up yet. At least have her seen by a specialist and x-rayed. Vets are human, they make mistakes. I can imagine that you're feeling very down and not very positive about things. Do you have support from the people around you?

Good luck from me and P and S.  :grouphug:
