We wanted to tell you about a very special Cat Chat supporter: Peter Hanson of the Cat Gallery, who is running the Yorkshire Marathon this Sunday (20th) in aid of Cat Chat, the Cat Rescue Resource.
This will be Peter's first ever full marathon (26.2 miles), and he has been training hard for many months. Peter will be running in a 'minimalist' cat costume (cat ears and tail, plus cat make-up!) - and his race number is 0077 (so even better than James Bond!). With 3 days to go to the race, there is still time to sponsor him if you wish, just follow the link to Peter’s fundraising page at the bottom of this email. Or, if you live near York, you may like to go along and cheer him on!
The support for Peter’s marathon run so far has been fantastic, with sponsorship donations from many Cat Chat supporters and Cat Gallery customers. Peter has also had support from as far afield as New Zealand and the USA, and yesterday a donation from JD Sports took Peter over his initial fundraising target. The outdoor clothing shop Blacks also donated some all-weather gear to keep Peter dry in training (see photo below), which we understand has come in very useful lately!
Peter and the Cat Gallery have supported Cat Chat for many years, currently sponsoring our ‘Adopt and Older Cat’ page. We are so proud of Peter undertaking this challenging run for us, and incredibly grateful to all the lovely, generous people who have donated and shown their support.
There's still 3 days to go to the race, and every extra pound raised will spur him on to that finish line!
