I'm also a serial auction bandit.
Liz, (FSF)
All will become clear as to how it works, Tan always posts a thread with full instructions, I suspect this may become it?? then the auction itself has it's own Thread, and each item gets it's very own Topic within that Thread.
If you have an item to include, you just start a fresh Topic in the Auction Thread , with a starting bid if you like, and watch it go....
. If you see a
mug item you fancy, just hit the "reply" button on that thread and make your bid, then you will get a notification each time someone outbids you right up until the last minute of the auction, so beware there is no "buy it now" option and everyone stands to be outbid at the last knockings.
You just need to make sure you know what you're getting into, as things have changed slightly this year as to how postage is accounted for, in that the donor will be responsible for paying postage. This may affect your decisions on what to offer for "sale".
Moderator will correct me if I've got this wrong but that's my understanding of it.
Someone, Sam I think,
posted a link to "My Hermes" courier firm, and they do seem to have very desirable rates in comparison to Royal Mail, so worth checking out their terms and conditions.
I've got a dozen or so pieces I've been collecting over the year, and will be plopping them into the auction over several days to freshen things up and keep the bidding alive.
I know Sam has been very busy co-Ercing businesses and sponsors into donating all sorts of valuable gear so it already looks like being a tremendous success, need to drum up some excitement to get those purses flapping so do share with anyone who may be interested.
Auction starts on 17th November, you can start placing your items from that date.
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas, and happy bidding.
but the mugs are mine
