That sounds much more encouraging news Helen.  As Susanne says, room for cautious optimism.      Dont you fret, Riley is never out of our thoughts.  I think we can safely say at all times of the day and through the night, he's definitely in our thoughts.  We're with you every step of the way in this Helen.

Sending a gentle snoozle from Ross and Dickie (Tink).

The vet has just this second rung!

Really don't like to tempt fate but he said although it's early days that he is stable and things are looking good. He has been sitting up and lapping food, he's still on a very low dose of the sedative which he's going to be kept on overnight but he said it's a good achievment considering how he was yesterday and all the seizures he's been having.

I'm not sure how much more of a rollercoaster I can take but please, please keep Riley in your thoughts and prayers :wish:

Still in our thoughts here and Stable is good

On the food front I am sure they know all the tricks but I have found having been through this for differenthealth issues with some of the Clan that KFC Chicken with the batter removed and still warm chopped in to very small bits or blended with a little warm water can kickstart the food thing in fact anything that is a caloiei be it human or cat food I have tried so we will keep all paws crossed at the Clan for you all xx

You and Riley are very much in my thoughts Helen.    Seizure free overnight is good and I have everything crossed for him to remain that way during the gradual reduction of sedation.

So glad I came back to check for an update as am clutching at any bit of good news for our young man Helen.  So how much does our boy weigh now?  100g doesn't sound a lot and I imagine he has lost more than that over the last 11-12 days but he is normally a strapping boy so hopefully he is still a decent weight?  Obviously it is vital that he starts to eat again though and as soon as possible

I know you need him to get through this.  It would just be too utterly unfair for him and you to go through this unless he has a successful outcome so it has to happen

It might not seem much but he's stable, so that's really positive news!

Slightly more positive update although he is still very poorly and in intensive care.

Vet just rang and he has been stable overnight with no seizures, they're going to try and decrease the sedative very slightly each hour and hope that he can remain seizure free. He has lost around 100g in the last 48 hours so once he is awake they are going to try and feed him.

Please, please keep up the vibes and prayers for him - I need him to get through this  :(

Be assured that Riley is in front of my mind last thing before sleep, during my sleep and when I wake up Helen.  I dreaded coming on here this morning but assume no news from vet must mean Riley is still with us so there's still hope that seizures can be controlled somehow and our boy can come out of this
