Just remember when the time comes, better a week too early than a moment too late.

I don't want to hijack this thread, just to tell you how much your words have helped me come to terms with the way I lost my darling Chivvy. Thank you.

Well now she weighs over 1 kg less than she did 8 months ago (more than 1/4 of her body weight). Tumour is twice as big as the last time we saw the vet (he said he's not seen one grow that fast in a very long time). This is the end. She's had a couple more steroid injections (longer lasting this time) to try and get her eating again, but yeah.

I'm sad, but she's had a lovely 5 1/2 years with us.

Peace at last.

Thanks. She's not eaten for 24 hours, and she's refusing treats. Including dreamies :-( off to the vets today.

Clio had all her teeth removed and it sent her Hyper T in to over drive so the supplements are extra calories and she is putting the weight back on and my Calichi boy Wispa has ulcers on his throat making eating not nice so he gets the supplements for the extra calories in his liquid diet and had put on over half a kilo much to the vets surprise, he is also on Vit B injections and Covenia once a month and Metacam as and when needed

Sorry the news sounds sad, as for the loosing weight I have 2 on supplements from the vet a teasppon or 2 pumps of each one and I have got half a kilo back on each of them one Hyper T and a tad numbers all over the place and the other has Calichi and vet gave me the stuff as a last resort but seems to be working I also liquidise their food - the supplememnts are equal to what an adult cat eats in a day calorie wise and added to liquidise food its a win win
Didn't understand much of this, but I take it your cat is just losing weight through not eating? This is something different. Her appetite is fine on the whole.

Well I suppose I should start off with an apology for not being more active on here.

Basically, back in October (I posted about it then), Peggy was diagnosed with pancreatitis. Well the symptoms never really went away, and 3 weeks ago, they found a lump right where her stomach meets her small intestine (near her pancreas). Since then, she's been on stronger anti-sickness meds but she's still throwing up and losing weight fairly quickly. The odd thing is, she seems remarkably happy most of the time. Just a bit wobbly because of some arthritis in her joints (esp her back legs).

I really don't think she's going to last very much longer, which is a bit pooey.
