14s not old! My previous 2 lived to 19 and 20 respectively (they were litter mates) and were both fit and active well into their old age  ;D

Thanks Gill :)

I came out  9yrs ago, really bad experience with a practise and got a very real and startling view on how demonic and greedy some vets are :-/

I'm happy to help out any way I can with any issues :)

I'm sure many of us have "greedy unscrupulous vet" stories, too, but many a time the punter has no clue what's really going on. It's good to know it's recognised from inside the profession as well.

 :back topic:

So excited for you.  :cheer: My last kitten, Beau the cat, is still with me at 14 although nowadays he only has three teeth and is deaf as a post, but he still managed to play with his feather-onna-stick like a one year old tonight, and looks guilty as a busted teenager most of the time.  ;D

Mines has got all kinds of baskets. He drops in and out of them at his whim. I only had three weeks between losing the other of old age and getting Little Billy as I called him then. He is somewhat heavier now and still as adorable.

They are lovely when they first move in and all the following years afterwards. Mines is as happy as could be. Sitting in his basket. He is quite good using this tablet for his posts though

I'm bursting to get her here, she's leaving mum cat around 15th June but I want to be sure she's ready before taking her away. My maternal mummy hormones will be going berserk!!

My previous older model lasted to nearly 18. Billy is young really. There is a few characters chatting on there but the cats have to put their names on else Sasa, the cat moderator, is soon on to check out the situation.

Wow your a minefield of useful information! I look forward to picking your brains in the future!! I used to be a vn so did basic behavioural studies, tbh I'm better with dogs behaviours, but I know enough to get me through, anything else and I'll be straight on here :)

Looking forward to having a good browse :)

Well if you look up there  :innocent: in the top corner, Purrs has its own shop where you'll find all sorts of goodies. Click on the banner.  ;) The operator is the Purrs forum owner, our Tan.  :cuddle:

Then there's a good few on-line stores like Zooplus (get membership for discounts), Animed Direct (free delivery), Bestpet (free delivery) and VetUK (great for meds) that are open to the public, you'll find your way around I'm sure.  Pets At Home also sell on-line but I find their prices less competitive and delivery expensive. Be sure, though, that just sometimes, the best bargains are still on Amazon or E-bay  :sneaky:

There's a section on here for best bargains, keep an eye on there for the latest posts for food and other offers (as this is predominantly a rescue site, our rescues are REALLY hot for bargains - so if you find one, post it!)

I won't flood you with stuff right now, but do have a wander around the forum. Especially useful are the health and behaviour guides - there's a section on just about every topic, written by experts and referred to by us all from time to time.   :nice meet:

Glad you've found us, I'm sure you'll enjoy it here.  It really is a very friendly forum with lots of friendly helpful advice, if ever needed, and of course lots of fun.

I do feel it my public duty to warn you though that it can be a teensy bit addictive  You have been warned  :evillaugh:

Will Tippy be your first experience of a feline or have you had cats before? Do you have any pics you'd like to share?  ;D
