Tiggy is actually turning out to be a very good, if unconventional, mum.
She’s protective without being possessive which will make the task socialising easier. Yes I know, its going to be hell but somebody has to do it.
The kittens will be four weeks old on Wednesday so I think its time for formal introductions. We really should have used different coloured bedding because they don’t show up well against the grey but here goes.
First off we have Topsy, the only girl. We thought she was a tortie at birth but I think she’s a torbie with a bit a white on her face for good measure.
Next we have Todd who already knows he’s a heart-throb. He has the most amazing pair of lungs and isn’t afraid to use them - often.
Next comes Tyson, so called because he’s the biggest and a bit of a thug.
Finally we have the other black boy who was Toby until the arrival at the Inn of Marmite and Toby who have had their names all their lives. We’ve not actually agreed on his new name but I call him Troy, I think Debbie calls him Theo, and Rob, who can never remember kittens names anyway, says he’s only 6 inches long so why does he need a name yet.
I have a sneaking feeling he might turn out to be my favourite, he already has a cheeky look in his eyes.
Both the black boys have stripes in their fur which is not uncommon and they usually fade, but in Tyson’s case they’re very noticeable and I wouldn’t be surprised if they became more rather than less prominent with time.
Gotta go now but more pics later (probably much later), including another 2 newbies. Yes folks, the collapsible pens are being pressed into use once again.
