If your furbabes like Hi-life cat food (of if you fancy giving it a try) .... we have had a huge donation of food from Hi-Life.    Loads of varieties and some new stuff that's not even out in the shops yet  :Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2:

The PACA wouldn't be the same without some poo or similar item.   I still smile when I think of Garf's furry balls being auctioned LOL.

If the items are as good as last year, I'm sorted for the family presents as well.

That thread also shows the end process that we go through to make sure as much as we can that items are paid for before being sent out and then we also are told that they have arrived before the thread is closed.

Ah this is lovely! I will be bidding! I might even have something to donate too.

If I donate, who do I contact to let them know?

 :thanks: :thanks: :thanks:

If you have something you'd like to donate to the auction it's just a case of posting a thread for the item to be bid on in the auction board when it opens (from 18th Nov onwards) - if for any reason you'd prefer not to post the thread yourself I (or any of the mods) would be happy to post it for you  :)

Here's an example of an auction post from last year...

http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,39601.msg695666.html#msg695666

I can also help with posting pics for the technologically challenged!  :naughty:

What a fantastic idea this is. Will definitely be interested in the simon's cat stuff.

It really is fab - great fun, loads of dosh raised for cat rescue and loads of good stuff to bid on  :wow:

If you want the Simon's cat stuff you'll need to get in training now as the fights in previous years have been fierce  :scared:

 :boxer:

And last for the full two weeks  :innocent:

Yeah sadly Bloomin Royal mail got rid of the small packet price bands of up to 100g, up to 250g and upto 500g and now only do one price for upto 750g.
Makes sending one ping ping ball £2.20 2nd class!! but a flatter object (max size A4, under2.5cm thick,  weight 100g)  just 69p 2nd class !!  mad!!

With me 1st post all credit for PACA and text goes to our Helen  :shy:  cause i nicked her post from 3 years ago and just updated !   :shify: :evillaugh: well no point in changing a brilliant thing is there!  ;)

plus .... toys, safety collars, cat beds, and many more items ... but you'll have to wait until the PACA on the 19th 18th November to see the rest of the lovely things.

Just to clarify the date... the banner at the top of Purrs says 18th November (which is a Sunday and I think the auction has historically started and finished on a Sunday?) was the 19th a typo?

Good heavens , what is the parcel rate? Not much comes in 2.5 cms thick

The post office are a total rip off and think we need some good courier rates this year.

I am I reading the chart right...........anything over 2.5 cms thick............ie a mug will have to gp parcel rate at £5.70 or was that 5.30??

Not sure where you're reading from?  :evillaugh: A mug would be packet size and weigh less than 750g so would be £2.20 second or £2.70 first. It's light things that are thicker than 2.5cm that will be expensive to post eg, I bought some crinkle foil balls for the auction but even though they are light as a feather they cost the same as a mug to post (£2.70/£2.20) so I'll be bundling them in with something else rather than auctioning them on their own!

Can you see the chart jpg below? That's an easy ready reckoner  :)

Ooh, and if you'd like to help publicise the PACA to try and raise as much as possible for Paws Inn then please change your signature.

For the auction to be a success we need people to a) bid on things and b) donate things and to do this we need them to c) know about it!

Soooo, if people could temporarily change their signatures to help 'promote' the Auction that would be fab  :)

It's easy:

  • Hover over 'profile' button (towards top of screen)
  • Move mouse down to 'Forum Profile' and click
  • Scroll down to signature box and paste in the code* below
  • Scroll down and bottom right click 'Change profile'
  • Simples

To get the code:

If you click on the 'quote' button top right of this post then it adds my post (with all the formatting codes visible that make it look pretty) to the box where you normally type your reply. Just copy and paste this and follow instructions above to add it as your signature.

When you quote the post, this is the code you need to copy, in it's 'raw' format it begins [center and is in between the down arrows and up arrows.

PACA, love it  :evillaugh:

I can't wait to see what goodies the generous Purrs members and companies have on offer  :wow: Will have to get the boys to spend their pocket money on getting some things to auction  :naughty:

On the subject of postage, it's now the flatter the better!  :evillaugh:

The way postage prices are calculated has changed since last year and now even light things that are over 2.5cm thick are charged the same as heavy things eg a package over 2.5cm thick weighing 50g costs the same to cost as a 750g package of the same thickness.

Wooo hoooo it's nearly PACA  time  :Party 3: :Party 3:

For any new members who don't know me .... I have the rather unenviable task of contacting sponsors are procuring goodies for the PACA (love the acronym Tan  :evillaugh:).  As you can imagine this is no small task and usually about this time of year I start   :pull hair:

This year we have once again been supported by some incredibly generous sponsors and some of the items we have been offered include:

A cat cave ..... http://www.etsy.com/shop/LoveCatCaves

3 x igloos and litter … http://www.igloopets.com/ ..... (yes you did read correctly ... 3 of these little beauties)

Simon’s Cat goodies  (signed by the man himself)

Cat food from Arden Grange and Harringtons

A Cattitude "bowl" .... http://www.etsy.com/shop/HotFusionGlass?section_id=11873481

plus .... toys, safety collars, cat beds, and many more items ... but you'll have to wait until the PACA on the 18th November to see the rest of the lovely things.

We all appreciate times are tough and money is tight but Purrs peeps really are the best and I am sure you won't let us down this year  :Luv2:

Wouldn't worry about whats going in we end in a bidding frenzy and sometimes are surprised when our winning items arrive in the post

does everything auctioned have to have a cat theme this year, as in previous years?

It never has and has always been like what Tan said, you auctioned jewelry last year or year before, didnt you.
