No mention of the compensation those farmers got from the Crown for their loss, though.
I know TB is a terrible disease, and that the badgers also suffer once it takes hold, but these drastic culling measures cannot be measured so there could never be an adequate report on their effectiveness. Too much too early. They need to seal off an area and try a raft of measures over a period of years then measure the effectiveness under controlled conditions before they can even justify.
Somebody on the radio the other day said a badger TB vaccination was being researched that could be introduced orally in food. Oh but this would need substantial testing before it could be tried
Dual bloody standards. Give an idiot a gun, tell some lies about statistics then cover up the mess they leave behind. Sounds like politics to me.
