Just read on Facebook ,he was pts this morning.
What evil scum ,especially that woman warder who really seemed to enjoy her job .
Hope she and the rest of them come to a really bad and painful end very soon before they do this again .

I wouldn't trust BCC to spell their own name right - seems there's no end to their ignorance: http://www.examiner.com/article/belfast-city-council-making-animal-sounds-when-people-call

All actions of Local Authorities should be subject to access under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act. If anyone has the time to request specific information using this piece of legislation, BCC have no choice but to release the date and details of Lennox's PTS, so if he had already been killed and this is the reason BCC are witholding his remains, it should become clear from FOI request. They also only have 40 days to comply.

I doubt any individual officer would put his name to a lie under FOI if this is a cover-up, as his career would be at stake if he did.

I've sent an e-mail do not hold out much hope. Just sickening, the whole thing. They've won the case, what harm to them (BCC) to show mercy now and let him go to the States? If the Barnes family have not signed him over surely the body belongs to them? I dont understand on what grounds BCC can refuse to give up his body, although I have my suspicions as to why they may not want to.

It's all very suspicious: BCC have ignored experts' advice, all helpful solutions and, weirdly, won't release Lennox's body to his family. How "dangerous" can a dog be after being PTS?

Letters urgently needed to help Lennox move to the United States

PLEASE CROSSPOST

Please consider adding your voice to help save Lennox.

Send your polite, but firm e-mails to:

generalenquiries@belfastcity.gov.uk

The family consulted with their legal counsel, but there was simply nowhere else within the legal system to take Lennox's case. Taking it to the Supreme Court would not guarantee that the case would even be heard. It would also mean that Lennox would be forced to continue to languish in isolation, which is simply too cruel for the family to even think about, since he has already endured this for over two years.

Jeff Coltenback, an amazing advocate from Bloomfield, N.J. who has 20 years of dog training and rescue experience, has made numerous offers to the Belfast City Council to have Lennox come to live with him. He has told the BCC that this would cost them nothing, as he would cover all the expenses of moving Lennox to America. Unfortunately so far, he has not received even an acknowledgement of his letters. He has now sent one last letter, appealing to the BCC to allow Lennox to move to the United States, and come to live as part of his family in New Jersey.

Fellow advocates are now asking that all advocates who have spoken out to support them in their fight to save Lennox make one final effort by writing to the BCC, asking them to look favourably on Mr. Coltenback's offer. While Lennox would never be allowed to come home to his original family, at least he would be allowed to live, and would be able to spend the rest of his life as a beloved family member in a new home. That is the best possible solution to this heartbreaking situation.

Thank you.
