He spent most of the night with me, keeping me penned in. He has his upbeat moments.

Whatever is right, it will be done.

Day of reckoning, vets at 3.10.

Could be goodbye.

Vet wants to have a look at him to see why he's not eating.

it may be worth buying some fish and cutting it into smaller peices, then just defrost and cook a bit at a time. tescos basics white fish frozen is ok and ive never had bones in it

poor boy but some is better than none so you never know..tommorrow may bring a better day

I'll look into that tomorrow. What kind of minced beef can I purchase? It seems most tins have onion in. I'd like a wet slimy minced beef to try.

Will keep trying.

Heating a/d hasn't worked. He gets offended and walks away.

He is spending alot of time with me and settles easier when next to me. He follows me around alot, so he wants me to be with him.

you could also smear the AD on to his paws, he will lick it off, even if he doesnt want to, cats are very fussy about their fur :evillaugh:

I could try that, but I did it with something else and he just left it there  :-:

Have you tried heating the AD in the microwave for about 10 seconds when its warm its more appealing, cat milk is another good way to get calories in them, also heating the tuna and fish again for 10 seconds in the microwave seems to make it more appealing

We are sending all our best vibes at the Clan for you both

I haven't yet. I will do though. I just cooked a Turkey Breast roast and offered him some pieces, but no interest :(

Put out cat milk, but no interest.

I keep trying different things, often heating, but nope :(

For a first meal for a few days it is a lot and his tummy will take ages to digest.

Keep on hoping and hope Moses will eat again in a few hours.

I agree with you rather than the vet, especially knowing what happened to Napoleon and he was an in patient and they kept telling me he was eating and he wasnt  :(

Ok, i'm just concerned it may not be enough. I will keep trying of course.

I always worry that vets would lie. They told me my Dopey was better off being pts and she lasted another 13 months, albeit the last 2 moths blind.

The vet also seemed put on the phone when I told him Moses wasn't eating, saying "I didn't think him not eating was the biggest problem when I saw him" It wasn't, but it is now!

Still nothing else...

Refusing it all.

False dawn I think :( Can't see how the vet thinks it's not yet critical.

Noticed you've posted since I started typing, Gill.

You think 4 little pieces of plaice and a few mouthfuls of Tuna is going to help? It's alot compared to what he did eat, but in the grand scheme of things.....my heart is sinking.

EDIT: It was 6 pieces of plaice - 2 then 4 more. Still - not enough.

But not had anything since.

The Hills a/d is a big thumbs down I think.

I'll try it later.

Just had a few small mouthfuls of tuna! Just as England scored in the footie  Celebratory tuna.

Tried eating a treat but too chewy for him.

I'll keep trying.

Can you re-heat fish? It was frozen plaice in breadcrumbs, but obviously only gave him the fish - nice and warm.

He's calm, so going to sit with him - he likes to watch footie with me :)

Nothing more yet, but he's a little more relaxed.

Even if this is a false dawn, he's not going quietly.

It's ok, I just hope it helps.

He doesn't rest for long. I slept on and off for a few hours earlier whilst flatmate watched him. I'm awake, I just need food, which I will do shortly.

I am tired and not eating much - it's affected my appetite too!

I took him to bed after his last pill, he didn't stay long and eventually had to carry him downstairs.

He's also had some Mirtrazapine - how long does it take to kick in usually?

I am reading all the replies, apologies if it appears i'm not answering everything directly, I hope you understand.
