Yes, I adopted two gorgeous Weegies. Brothers, 7 years old this year. Both appear to have been poorly treated - Cedric (black and white) has chronic diarrhoea caused (the vet thinks) by an untreated parasitic infection making his guts sensitive. He is now on an exclusion diet to try to find which foods he CAN eat. Albert (nickname Allybear because he looks like a teddy bear) appears to have a neurological problem - 50%of the time the light's on but there's no-one at home ;D

Great news Draco  ;D but I'm enquiring about the original post lol, it seems that this thread drifted.....I need to know whether Oscar got rehomed so I can move this to sorted now.

If you'd to tell us about your two new addidtions though, that would be lovely, but you'd need to start a new thread in Cat's stories section  :Luv:

Thanks sheilarose,
I've tried Cat chat.  I asked after 2 older kitties, but have had no reply as yet. I have also read some information re. FIV cats and am willing to look in that direction too. I'm happy to keep looking, as I know that out there is a  "furbaby" that will be my true match.

Hi Draco.

Have you considered taking an FIV+ cat? There are many in need of homes just like yours, and in my experience can be the most loving, loyal and fulfilling partner pets.

Have a read of this guide and see if it opens up your options?

http://www.v63.net/catsanctuary/fiv.html

I notice no=one has pointed you in the direction of Catchat yet either. Here's a list of your local cat rescues and some of the cats they have available for adoption. If you register your interest with some of them you stand an excellent chance of finding your purrfect match very soon.

Meanwhile is there any update on Oscar? This post is over a year old now?

Thanks - I'd already had a look at Mac - he's on my consideration list :), but he says he's an outdoor cat. I'm looking more for a companion that will be happy to be indoors, or potter round the garden with me - similar to my daughter's Quinn. No, we live in the North East, though we could travel if the need arose.

I'm writing in forlorn hope that Oscar is still available for rehoming. We are newly retired, and looking to adopt an older cat (kittens are too mobile for me as I have arthritis  :(.

Has Oscar found a home? A friend of my Mum's is looking for a tabby cat and she lives in the West Midlands.

Oscar

Oscar is a 5 yr old blue tabby mitted male neuter ragdoll male, he is very affectionate little boy and is very chatty ,he does love company so would suit someone who is around for part of the day, Oscar is a house cat and would suit an home without young children and no dogs
