Just a really silly thought but could his results have got mixed up with another cat?

Love his face, what a gorgeous lad! :wow:

Are you sure the vet examined the right cat? He looks amazingly healthy and strong!

What a stunningly handsome boy :drool; I have a weakness for gingers and he is just divine!  :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:

Hard to believe he is so poorly, especially with his curtain antics  Hope he proves the vets wrong and has many happy years with you yet

I can only add my amazement that that ginger hunk is in such poor health  :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:

Prove those people in the green coats wrong Furdie.  D'ya hear?  Your ma has gone through enough.  You keep climbing those curtains kid  :wow:

He's really lovely Sylvia   :blow kiss:

As I'm sure you know, cats have an amazing ability to get along with very little kidney function esp if they have doting slaves to grant their every whim  :)

He looks pretty good for a cat with no kidney function.

You hang in there Furdie, there's a lot of life still to be enjoyed.

Introducing Furdie
« Reply #1 on: April 12, 2012, 23:42:34 PM »
Fernando, now known as Furdie, has joined our family since mid-February.  I should have introduced him earlier, but he has been keeping us very busy.

We already knew that he was FIV+, but within a day of picking him up we noticed that he was drinking and weeing much more than was normal, so we had a vet appointment booked the next day when blood tests were carried out, and unfortunately we were told that he is suffering from kidney failure to such a degree that he has no kidney function at all, and was not expected to last a month  :(

We made an appointment with the head of our vet practice, to see if there was anything else that we could do for Furdie, and he was quite helpful.

So far Furdie has been with us 8 weeks, and is as bright as a button, full of energy and a right little home wrecker.  We still have a few other problems with him that we haven't solved yet i.e. once upon a time we used to have curtains that hadn't been torn down, and vertical surfaces that hadn't been sprayed up.  Hopefully we will still have time to resolve these.

If anyone has any spare Purrs stay-with-us vibes, then they would be really appreciated now  :)

I'm sure that no-one would be interested , but just in case anyone is here is a pic or two of my new baby:
