That's the problem and yes its unreal when you think of terrorists etc....I really dont mind organised display's, I am not against responsible adults organising there own back garden mini displays....its when they are used as missiles  :sigh:

I will never understand that in these days of FEAR EVERYTHING FOR EVERYTHING IS SCARY OMG TERRORISTS AT YOUR BACKDOOR Daily Express paranoia etc, that it is perfectly legal to sell powerful explosives to anyone over the age of whatever. Seriously, wtf.

I hate them myself, they are loud, scary and smell.

Nowt like the gentle fizz and wheeeeeeeee of the fireworks and sparklers from my yoof.

I have to agree Horza, private fireworks have been banned in Australia for several years now, but you still have outbursts of fireworks at irregular intervals through the year. And no, the police do not care - they have better things to deal with

Changing the law will only stop the law abiding. the people who spoil it for the rest will not heed any new laws as they are already lawbreakers, look at gun crime ban guns and the problem got worse :(

there is a very stupid man in our street, who keeps letting fireworks off every few days, all through the year so far, he has kids and a wife too, he must buy duff ones because if you hear a woooosh and no *bang*, another rocket will go up, until he gets a bang as such.  i was speaking to the local cp lady round the corner when bruiser went missing, and they have landed in her garden, and she fosters cats, the council wont do anything, appparantly it is a police matter, maybe bruiser got scared by one and done a runner and got lost.  i will be signing it.

I have signed. We don't buy the things but we do go to the organised display.Much safer. What annoys me is fireworks get set off everynight upto 4 weeks before bonfire night.

I have signed but find it sad in a way as when I was young and even when my daughter was young Bonfire night was one of the big family events of the year and we had so much fun. Sadly it has now got out of hand and of course the fireworks are so much more powerful.

Signed

I find NO pleasure in fireworks at all, they upset my Reba so much. Nothing against organised displays, at least you can avoid them, but the random goings off are hell for my noise sensitive dooglie.
