Oh bless her.   :Luv2:

My Bunty is probably around the same age as mum cat and when I look at her playing in the garden in this lovely weather discovering all the smells and sights of Spring it brings tears to my eyes to think she could have been weghed down with motherhood if she hadn't been rescued.

She was an absolute superstar.  She just got on with it quietly with our encouragement  telling her that she was a good girl etcetera.  Yes she is a young girl, I would think less than a year old herself.  She took from around 5 ish until 10.30 ish to have them, with a delay until the last afterbirth.  My daughter sat up with her late in the evening until she had witnessed completion, as we had to walk our dogs.

She is such a proud Mum cat, and the kittens are a good weight even though we didn't have Mum with us for much more than 3 or 4 days before the birth.  We moved them to Sharon so they could get a lot of socialisation as there are not any other cats so Mum and babes can be spoiled!

We would not have moved them if we thought it would have unsettled Mum and babies.  We actually just took the water out of the pen and moved them in the pen into the estate car the short distance to Sharon's house.

Just received the following update..

Finally, names and photos for you. I'm pretty sure we've got two girls and three boys (the girls being 'tidier' under the tail)

We've just weighed the babies again and all have gained well, we now have 364,385,390, 400 & 419. They are awake a lot more now, have just started to play with each other and lift their heads, still haven't quite figured out how legs work though.

All but one of the names are from the purrs list, hope that's ok. We are beginning to tell the difference from their markings but two of the boys are very similar both in weight and colours/marks so we'll have to work on that!

Mummy cat is now called Cleo (suggested by Ann Clarke- Tabby Cat) We did like Rio but that seems to be a boy name nowadays thanks to Mr Ferdinand.
Big boy is Boycie (Trigger)
Big girl is Bramble (chosen by us)
Middle boys are Storm (yogi bear) and Woody (Frances)
Little girl is Tiggy (Tiggy's mum)

It's pretty impossible to tell which is which in photos so here's a selection for now, I'll send some individual ones when they are a bit

Mummy cat had a good night with her babies, and she has been feeding them all.  She was fed early at 7.30 am this morning, and has had about 4 more meals since.

She did have one break this afternoon, I caught her lying in her (clean) litter tray.  Three babies were lying together and another two were lying together, probably where they had just fallen from the milk bar.  When I checked on them later with some food, she was back in feeding then all.

She looks quite proud of herself.  Will try to persuade OH to take some pictures of them.

As Angie intimated we have had a busy day today, out leafleting until around 4 this afternoon ready for another Animal Action Day, then back home.  First thing to do is to check on the Mum to be we took in a couple of days ago.  She had scattered litter everywhere and shredded some newspaper, and tipped her water a fair bit.  So we set about making her more comfortable.

After we had done it she looked as if she wanted some fuss, but when my daughter pulled her towards her she noticed a sack protruding.  So we waited and encouraged her, but nothing seemed to be happening at first.  So we sent for my OH in case we needed the car.  When he arrived, all evidence of an imminent birth had disappeared back into the birth canal!

However, the course of nature did indeed follow its course, and at 5.10 pm we had kitten number one, a tabby.  A bit later we had kitten number two born at 5.40.  Nearly an hour's break and number three arrived at 6.37, a fourth at 7.35 and we hope finally number 5 was born at 22 minutes past 10.  Not looking as strong as the others, but we hope it makes it.
