I think this is the answer

Loxicom is a ‘generic’ which means that Loxicom is similar to a ‘reference veterinary medicine’ already authorised in the EU (Metacam). Loxicom is ‘bioequivalent’ to the reference veterinary medicine which means that Loxicom is equivalent to Metacam in the way it is absorbed and used by the body.

I know my Gower vets tried to sell me an equivalent to metacam and I told them no and they werent amused, said I wanted the real thing. The annoying thing was that I had ordered metacam and they had it on the shelf.

Yes ... from googling it's an NSAID (painkiller) but have never heard of it before and not listed in NOAH.  I thought NOAH listed all prescription drugs  :-:

Hope she is doing well today Alison   Boris rather likes fissshhh it seems  :)

You have a very good point there Gill, thanks.

As far as I know metacam doesnt make them sleepy , although Duchas doseage was quite small.

Could be she hasnt been sleeping properly cos of her ears and now the pain is gone she is catching up........maybe she needs regualr doses of it for a few days cos cats hide the pain so well.

Parki was very unsettled last night so gave her a dose of metacam. Feel guilty in one way as she has been very sleepy all day but her ears are healing up really well

Thank you.

Parki now home and much happier as she was not eating at vets.

She was very good at vets during the day but at night she managed to get collar off two nights running :shify:

Ears are healing but she has managed to get collar off three times since she has been home :tired:

So pleased that Parki is OK and she has healed so quick its wonderful, I think she may be safer at the vets rather than with your OH and son!  :innocent: :innocent:

:thankMatthew left message to say when he looked at Parki this morning her ears were healing over nicely so no stitching today. He suggested they keep Parki in for two days to monitor her ears and to keep them safe.

I think this is a very good idea although I will miss her so much. Will phone back Matthew later to discuss.

Feeling so down and very worried about Parki :(

I left OH and son to look after Parki whilst I went out and when I got back they told me she managed to get her collar off. She then scratched a few stitches out :'( She was doing so well too.

Just come back from vets and Matthew is keeping her in and will restitch in morning.

He is sending her home with a collapesable collar this time.

Parki is really down and just hope she will be ok.
