smudgey
you post a clear photo of the cat looking forwards so that Pea can see her eyes clearly. You also attach a letter explaining the prob and what you hope to achieve from the talk with pea. You also give your contact details. She will than either mail  or contact you to arrange a suitable time for you both to sit down and talk (the talk lasts between half hour and full hour, hence th need to arrange an appointment). She will than phone you at the pre arranged time and talk to you. As you may never see her face to face if she is too far away, you will need to pay her before the session either by cheque or paypal. If you check her website it tells you all. She can do 'body scans' from the phot and therefore tell you if the cat may be hurting or something.

You will eventually get the photo back but pea requests that if you can send a phot with no reflection in the eyes.

Good luck

IFrankie-thats how I found pea too, when my cat Smudge went missing and turned up dead. I have since used her on a cat I have at home that was poorly and we struggled to find a cause. She helped me understand how the cat is feeling and was avery symapthetic and caring lady. As I contacted her roiginally about Smudge and to find out how and why she had died, Pea gave me some information that only my closest family knew, this is why i trusted her enough to ask for advice about Fluffy. I originally asked about Fluffies illness but learned so much about why fluffy behaves the way she does in certain situations which helped me find a way of helping her over come such behavioural issues.

Good luck with it Smudgey

Pea will come to your home if you prefer but it costs more. She can do it remotely by photograph, over the phne repeat consults are also cheaper. She is very good I would recommend. try at www.animalthoughts.co.uk

Lisa,
She charges 40 pounds . As I am in France, she did it by phone but she can do it by email. You need to send her a good photo of the animal. She has a website that explains everything www.animalthoughts.co.uk. She seems like a very sympathetic and warm person. It's just a week since Buster died so I'm really sad and maybe I'm nuts but, talking to Pea really helped. Look at her site for full details.

I contacted Pea ( Animal Thoughts) a few days ago following the recent death of my cat. I was naturally sceptical at first when I asked her to contact both my deceased cats. However, I can tell you that I was impressed with what she said. She knew things about them that only they or I could have known. I would have no hesitation in consulting Pea if I had any issues with an animal, alive, missing or dead in the future.

Your vet should be able to refer you to a behaviour counsellor and if you have insurance they will probably pay for it.  If your vet doesn't know of anyone you can have a look on the association of pet behaviour counsellors website to see if there is a clinic near you. You'll still have to ask your vet for a referral though as it's a condition of membership with the apbc that behaviourists registered with them only see people on referral from a vet.

Smudgey you can get your vet to refer you to a behaviourist, they will work with you to provide areas that Abby can feel safe in.
How many trays do you have?
Where are they placed?
Does Abby spend more time upstairs or down?
Are they indoor cats? If Zak is bored he will take great pleasure in winding Abby up! So more exciting toys and play centres would keep him occupied.

 :luck:

Forgot to say Pea helped point me in the right direction with a lot of issues I have with Fluffy including her health and why she behaves in certain circumstances the way she does. It has been an eye opener and made me understand her better and attempt to help her more. Hope this helps :)

because at night if there is a problem we are there but not in the day and yes he has been neutered
It seems as though Zak is being a bit of a bully, at first i just thought he was being a kitten but now it seems a little more agressive
Abby had her brother here for the 1st 18months of her life but we lost him to UTD(RIP Smudge) and she seemed to be lost without him
i'm just worried that the stress of him/Zak being naughty or kitteny is affecting abby adversly although she was the same at his age
I don't want to have to rehome Zak but if Abby's health is at stake it may be the only option
i just thought if i could find out what is upsetting her i could help

Can I ask why you leave them together at night but split them up during the day? Is Abby quite a timid cat as a rule? And has Zak been neutered?

(Oops, sorry. Firing questions at you!)

we have 2 cats Abby female 2 yrs and Zak male 8 months rescue kitten we did the slow introductions but now as Zak is gettin older he is beatin Abby up and she is gettin stressed has had blood and protein in her urine has been on cystease and metacam now she is better than she was but there is still some blood and protein in her urine although the sample sent to laboratory showed no infection
I just wanna know if it's Zak upsettin her or the fact we seperate them during the day but leave them together at night i just don't know what to do for the best
