General and close up photography is something my husband took up about 5-6 years ago , he like to take photo's of Devon, animals and close up ( macro) ones of insects heads
which freak me out somewhat .
If he's doing a mouth/ eye ball or other creepy part of a body on screen he is good and as I'm about to pass him calls out ' spiders on the screen, dear' so I will not look as it seems to set of my heart beat going 'silly '
Mark gave up 'one handed' ice and mountain climbing a few years ago, before this he had climbed all but one of the mountains in the UK , not bad for a man with spinal, leg, hip and knee problems and only his left hand as he cut of his right hand in a horrific accident .
Mark was finding climbing getting harder and harder to do since his legs 'kicked in' or should I say kicked out from under him , so Mike and I went a bit silly and bought him for Christmas his 'pride and joy' , it was the camera + lenses+ flash that kept being advertised on TV that year.
We had convinced him that we had put some money in an envelope so he could start to save for the items he needed but little did he know that the butchers, Post office and other people in the village were helping me get the items from Bristol to our village without him knowing and I actually wrapped the gifts in the middle of our village high street ( all 10 yards of it !!!!)
On Christmas morning as the big boxes came out of hiding we told Mark that they were presents from our village friends and as he only had our envelope to open ( which had nothing in by the way ) he could open all the village gifts first.
When Mark opened the first box , which we said was a family gift from the post office .............
well it was the first time we had really seen mark get tearful and his face lite up like a christmas tree .............
he said no one had ever done such a wonderful thing for him before ( we have only been married 9 years on the 7th of this month oooooooooooppps nearly forgot )
So , now he photographs all sorts of things for us including 'the boys' who at this time............. 4:00 am in the morning are driving me mad charging around doing what can only be called as a cross between the 'ocky-coky and the charge of the light-brigade '
Boys......boys
