Lupin was solid for 2 days and now introducing biscuits but now he is not quite as solid as he was grrrrrrrrrr. gonna persevere but not sure what problem is........he is now disappointed getting chicken and biscuits and I so want to get him back on cat food.

He knows that Ducha gets cat food and chicken and I definately dont want him on Duchas pate but he is trying hard.

Pleased yours are doing so well  but some cats just wont use cat flaps and stress at not being able to get to a litter tray could cause all kinds of problems.

With the smell Lupin makes which pongs out the whole house,,,,,,,,,,,,,he wont use his cover tray any more...........but I dont blame him cos I wouldnt want to be trapped in an enclosed space with the smell either LOL

I am about to move the covered tray from the front room cos it takes so much space, he has two  trays in the bathroom and one in the bedroom for the night, actually there are 2, one for Ducha.

Hope you enjoy your trip away...........I am scared just being outside for a while

Both girls pretty muc back to normal! :wow:

Hurrah! We go away tomorow for 4 days and this will be the first time we have left them  :( I hope they are ok, we have people coming in everyday to check and feed them... I wonder what carnage I will return to  :naughty:
'm glad their tummies are better in time for us going though

In other news we are really struggling to get Drum to use the catflap... it's not to the outdoors, it's in the door of the large cupboard where we have their litter trays... Bass used it fine when we showed her how it works but Drum is being a right pain! I just don't get it.. she's the adventurous one!
We've tried physically putting her in there to see if she at least comes out but she just stares through it at us like a prisoner, we've tried coaxing her through with Dreamies and putting Bsss in there in the hope she follows her sisters lead... Nada.
We are having to prop it open as I'm scared she'll go elsewhere or hold it and make herself ill!

How's Lupin getting on?

Well she's back on just chicken for now. Bass is fine :)
Although I am starting to wonder if Bass might be slightly blind as well as deaf... She uses her nose to find a biscuit in my hand right in front of her and it would maybe explain why she doesn't really jump climb or want to play as much as her sister who is very boisterous... You probably can't tell from pics but she has one blue eye...

This morning he was moreorless solid  ;D

However he is staying on chicken until the next movement which could be a couple of days away and then will start reintroducing the sensitive biscuits.

Hope yours are solid when the next time happens.

Could we be getting there, I wonder  :shify: :shify:

Any news today Gill?

The girls haven't been sick or had the runs since Friday, in fact, they haven't been to the toilet at all since Friday

Going to start re-introducing wet pouches tonight...

Yes temperature was taken and it took a fight with a vet nurse and the vet and he growled and hissed and lashed out!

His ears arent hot so dont think he has temperature but gonne try and put stronghold on him tonight cos he is back being active and on Monday will get a spot on wormer from the vet, think they have to be a week apart but will check.

I just found a furball accompanied by something else, so now we need to eliminate everything and he is now not so hungry.

Hello!

Back from  the vets, Drum has a temperature so vet says it's probably a tummy bug they've picked up and passed to each other... but the good news is it's nothing serious  :)
Drum has had a 3 day antibiotic injection and I've got some pro-kolin for both of them.. will keep them on a bland diet until they return to normal....
:thanks: got thinking of us  :)

Glad it's nothing too serious  Let us know how you get on with the pro-kolin kitty face paints  :naughty:
Did your vet say anything about the blood? When Riley had fresh red blood in his runny poos the vet said it wasn't anything to worry about and that if the blood was very dark then it might be a concern as it has travelled from elsewhere.

Hope it's not long before they're back to tip top form  :)

Well, of course, I don't know that this will definitely work, we'll see in 3 days but I'm confident it will... cats can pick up stuff from everywhere even fresh water or from bottoms of shoes etc, he may have a little bug even if the others don't..  did the vet check his temp last time?

I hope its the same with Lupin then but he is only one with it.

He doesnt mix with Misa and Sasa and Ducha is OK except his cat flu is flaring up and have put bisolven in his food this morning. Stress of being chased I think but he does ask for it when he rushes under the bed............last night he was wopping Lupin......talk of the devil Ducha just came down stairs!

That means Lupin is definately not feeling well!

I am interested too cos Lupin is not well today and looks like he will have to go back to vets on Monday unless things pick up.

He is still asleep  and also slept most of yesterday  and his tummy is not good this morning and showing no signs of improving .

Yeah defo time for a check up, I think she's lost weight too, but the blood might be something else. The other thing about Drum is that when she was speyed they couldn't find her ovaries.. They cut her in two places the little love and still nothing so gave up, so she may be in season?  :-:

Agree its a hard one and Lupin is just one month younger than yours Bee.

I rushed him to the vet last Saturday and was really £30 plus petrol for 50 miles down the drain, he is slightly improving but not better and he is such a gannet.

Oh really have to try and get a pic of him now LOL but camera bag is underneath wher he is lying......sigh

If you're worried then it's probably best to get them checked over for peace of mind  You could always ring and explain how long they've had their symptoms for and ask the receptionist to ask the vet whether they should be seen now or whether to leave it a day or so to see if it clears up.

Hmm makes me wonder if I am being too hasty with the vet check... I'm keen to get an all clear but equally don't want to waste £60 if they are simply going to advise me to keep an eye for longer..

They are very active and healthy otherwise...  and not eve off their food...  tough one...

Do I remember right Helen  in that you never found out the reason?

How long did it take for them to get back to normal?

Yep, they both had antibiotics and the faecal tests came back negative. Riley had been poorly a month or so before with vomiting and inappetance but when they were both poorly together with runny bums my vet didn't seem keen on any other tests, despite me asking, as they are/were otherwise young fit and healthy so she didn't suspect anything untowards going on. I think it took several weeks to clear up completely and I kept Riley on the sensitivity food for a few months as there was suggestion of food intolerance or allergy but I weaned him back onto normal food with no issues.

Thanks for the tip  :)

Yeah - they seem absolutely fine in themselves and Bass is in fact totally back to normal but I figured I may as well get her checked too, she was never sick actually just had loose stools.. they are both still drinking and eating too... I keep trying to think of things that we've changed.. we got them one of those drinking fountains from Zooplus so I've even unplugged that and given them their water bowls back... they were only health checked about a month and a half ago when they arrived at the RSPCA and were fine.. curious.

I hope there is nothing wrong

I had started adding some biscuits to Lupins diet, which as far as I can tell are OK but today he has stolen food again and was ill again not long after.

He is always hungry and has a black hole for a tummy I reckon, he is not keen on biscuits grrrrrrr

Aww, bless them :care: Hope it's nothing untoward, it could be that they need some antibiotics to shift it. I'm sure the vet will mention this but if they're being sick aswell you need to try and make sure they're kept hydrated, they might even recommend syringing water into them if they are dehydrated.

I went through a bout of upset tummies with my two, they both had antibiotics and the faceal tests came back negative. It took quite a while to clear up hence my expertise on the subject!

How are they today? Whenever I've fed exclusively chicken it does seem to bung them up a bit so I wouldn't be worried about the lack of movement at this stage.

Hope they're enjoying their birthday  :)
