I am hoping so sheila, its a 7 hr drive just one way and he is one on 21 Aug and now have an address to go to and am hoping to go on 30 Jun but that still has to be sorted.

Only problem I currently have is that the owner has put a new advert out today although we exchanged emails all day yesterday. He is unneutered an am worried that a backstreet breeder may want him although I understand thats its queens they are most after.

Do you have a small empty plant sprayer or travel spray bottle? First of all you're meant to dilute it 10 to 1 with water and 'clean' the area with the diluted solution so handy to have an empty spray bottle for that. You only need to make up a teeny bit of diluted solution though. You then spray the full strength solution (it comes in a spray bottle) and cover it in plastic to prevent drying and leave it for a few hours. You then rinse and blot the area and voila - no smell!

I found with a particularly nasty diarrhoea accident I had to repeat it a few times (I think it must have happened as soon as I left the house so it was festering for 10 hours before I came back  ). With the wee/suitcase incident I only did it once (after biological washing powder had failed miserably) and the smell completely disappeared.

Think I am going to try this as I maybe getting an unneutered boy and I am sure I have seen this on another thread too.

If he comes he will be off for the snip as instantly as I can arrange it.

I've heard of using alcohol (surgical spirit) but thought that was to prevent them going there again rather than for it's odour removing qualities?

I promise I'm not on commission but can highly recommend RX66 - it's an industrial strength enzymatic cleaner that does urine, faeces, vomit - the works!

I read on another site a blog from a long-time cat owner that she had started using (with apparent huge success) rubbing alcohol as a remover for cat urine from upholstery.

She just poured it on the stain, blotted up the excess then left the thing to dry (well ventilated) and as if by magic the smell disappeared.

Apparently rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) is the main ingredient in many enzymic odour removing fluids.

Any truth in this? With 5 boy cats in the house, pee spray on furniture is a constant problem for me (and my Mother's coming to stay on Friday!)
