Gill, I know how you feel. With Mog, if she wasn't asleep in one of two places (the bottom of the wardrobe - we left the door open for her) or under the bed she was following me round or sitting on me. I miss that.
But I also know what JenGeorgieBob means too. I looked round yesterday and all three cats were snoozing contentedly around the room - and it made me smile so much.

I love watching Bonnie when she is sleeping - content, happy, comfy, loved are just a few words that come to mind when I look at her.
Noah and Franta Napoleon are looking down from the Bridge and sending you lots of PURRS I am sure.

it is horrible to see the gaps of those that are missing, but the moments of peace make the stress of Fred being poorly and not knowing his test results more bearable.
I hope you find another companion soon

shhhhh...
Fred is asleep in his bed.
Benji is asleep in his bed.
Ginger is asleep and dribbling on my arm (typing quietly and with one hand).
the only sound is the occasional sleepy meow
is it sad to say this is what makes life worth it?
