Thought you might like to hear about a special cat I had called Maisie.
I took Maisie as a foster cat about 8 years ago. I collected her and her brother from someone who had an accidental litter and asked for help with rehoming them.
Maisie was about 8 weeks, very small, mostly white with a few tabby markings. When I first got her she had a very wiry coat but whats more she had one front leg noticeably shorter than the other.
To cut a long story short the vet was unable to provide any treatment to rectify the situation but this didn't bother Maisie - she could scoot about like any cat. When she walked she walked on one foot & one "wrist". When she ran she could manage to use both feet somehow. She also found it difficult to use her front paws independently. So rather than tapping or scratching something (or another cat) with one paw she always used both paws at the same time.
We loved having such a special cat but sadly Maisie was killed by a car at just 3 years old.
I often think about her.
