So sorry about Effie.
Archie is so adorable and the photos are excellent.
Hope to see pics of Ella and Archie playing together soon and they will turn your tears into smiles and laughter.

Oh bless him he looks just like Jerry did at that age. if he acts like him then you are in sooooooooooooo much trouble!!!!!!!
Reckon Effie would be thrilled - and is probably having a little cat snigger at all the trouble Archie is causing!

OOO what a stunning little monkey
He's like a cross between my lads Garf & Marl
Welcome to Purrs Darlin Archie lad
Si there's def no time limit too soon or later and it's down to what you can give to another how you all feel. I too adopted another babe every time one of my beloved babes went to the bridge. You hope in your heart of hearts that they will live long and wonderful lives but if the dreadful happens, they are always still deep in your heart and can never be forgotten of loved any less. They will always be with us. I still get upset for my bridge babes and i do miss them very much. Time has given me some peace where i can also remember them in fun and pictures in my head of how gorgeous they were and will always be.
That can never be taken away from helping another little one have a great loved and happy life.
Archie lad give ya dad's and Ya sis ell from me. You look like a little cheeky imp and i am sure you are being a ginge babe
Si, Sean & Ella ... you're gonna be put in ya place now with Ginge lad. He will be running the family in no time!!

Oh Simon I hadn't realised that Effie was gone.
There is no such thing as too soon or too late to open your heart to another furry. And who could resist that cheeky face.
He will will be loved and cherished and in time you will develop a bond. It will be different from the bond you shared with Effie but special in its own way and it will in no way diminish your love for Effie which will always endure.

What an adorable looking little tyke.
It's not a matter of too soon, I think fate played a part in this too. Archie needed a home he'd be loved in.
No matter how many cats share your home, past and present, each one leaves it's mark. I could never replace any of the felines I've lost; nor would I want to. But what I can do is find that space in my heart earmarked especially for any new family members that come along. That's the same for most, I'm sure.
(PS: Jack and Toby were FAR from hard work, but Darwin, well he's definitely a boy.

What a gorgeous ginger ninja who came to you by way of darling Effie so you had someone else to love and help heal the place she left behind
They are never replacements they are just another furry set of paws to take over your world this side of the bridge

Awww what little sweat heart. Im sure that Effie sent him to you and to keep Ella company.
I think we all know you can never replace a loved one but knowing you helped a sad puss move into a loved and pampered and cared for home is all you really need.
So no I dont think its too fast and I sure as hell dont think you arent grieving for what youve lost but I hope that you can appreciate and learn to love the new friend you have for himself as he grows into the confident and loving cat I know you will help him be
love
