My lovely Delphi was sent to the bridge today at 3:15pm.
She had recently had a mammary tumour removed, but sadly she didn't really pick up as well as hoped and so I had to make the sad decision today.
Delphi came into my life around 3 years ago as a rescue. She had been dumped in a cattery and rescued but the people who rescued her didn't know how to look after ragdolls and when I met her she was a giant lump of matted fur.
I got her home and spent hours gently trying to de-matt her with consequential scratches all over my hands. Eventually though she ended up with the loveliest of coats. Slowly but surely, I gained her trust.
Delphi fought various illnesses all the time I had her. She was found to be carring the coronovirus soon after being rescued and she suffered a constant runny nose which ranged from a slight clear discharge to a full on blocked nose. She had toiletting issues which may have been intolerable to some.
She ended up getting mammary cancer which was removed and we had 6 months of happiness up until recently when Delphi started to decline.
Delphi I will miss our little routines that we did. the special headbutts. The way you could put Christian, a 7kg adult ragdoll in his place. I will miss you're beautiful eyes. You're soft silky coat. I love you my special darling. I will never forget you.
