Back to the vets this evening, BB isnt too good, she only ate a tiny amount yesterday and nothing so far today, didnt want her breakfast

Up till now the tumour hasnt been affecting her eating, but she actually doesnt seem interested in food at the moment. She's drunk some water today and she's now squished into the round bed with Harry as usual

this makes me feel so sad, seeing those two cuddled up together - Harry isnt the most tolerant of cats and yet he doesnt mind when BB is practically sitting right on top of him in that bed.

Been back to the vets, BB has another longer 3 week course of antibiotics (antirobe again) this time. Vet did say that tumours can ulcerate and bleed and she reckons thats whats been happening, but the last course of antibiotics were just beginning to work I think as the bleeding started to subside, and since she's been on the next course - there's been no significant bleeding at all and she seems to be in good spirits

eating well, and had actually put on a bit of weight.

Its all a bit messy when she eats and I have to mop her up afterwards - which she hates me doing and now knows to disappear off upstairs pretty smartish to avoid me, after she's finished her food!

We are back to vet this week, to check over and see if there's anything else they can suggest, although I doubt it.

What I don't understand is why is it bleeding? is that just the infection or is it usual for tumours to bleed? especially when they are in the bone. I can understand soft tissue tumours bleeding - unless it IS affecting the soft tissue as well - I suppose it must be, I didnt ask yesterday.

I've had to take BB back to vets again today. Her mouth has been bleeding and she's been drooling at lot, plus she's sneezing and snuffling. The tumour is bigger still (than just a couple of weeks ago)

- vet thinks so too, and there is infection in her mouth now. The blood is coming up into her mouth from the tumour (which is in her lower jaw) and vet thinks the sneezing and snuffling is all related - horrible gunk draining down her throat, up her nose etc

I was surprised at how quickly this is growing, vet isnt surprised though

.

Anyway, she's given her antirobe for the infection. Funnily enough, it hasnt stopped her eating, so for the moment, its just a case of treating any infections that arise. I know this is going to impact her eating at some point, maybe quite soon, seeing the rate its growing

Strange visit Gillian - I think the good news seems to be better than the bad really considering you knew the size of it really.

Forgot to say, my vet didnt charge me anything for today's appointment. There werent any meds anyway but she didnt charge consult fee either.
