Poor Anastasia. But it sounds as if she is a resilient little soul and is starting on the long road to recovery. I'm glad her ear wasn't quite as bad as first thought.

Give her a gentle and special cuddle from me.

Poor Anastasia had a dreadful night not helped by wearing a buster collar but its something she will have to persevere with. The vet has managed to leave a tiny bit of her ear which is a blessing,he said it wasnt quite as bad as he first thought; its just ashame that she has to endure all this for lack of a little suncream. She has eaten her tea and used her tray as well as a tickle under her collar she it looks like she is feeling much better.

Ahhh poor sweet Anastasia, give her a belly rub from me.

And thank you to those mentioning about putting cream on white noses, Sam's is pink/white and I never even thought that was vulnerable  :scared:

Andy has examined Anastasia this morning and he is certain the ear is cancerous,so she is booked in for amputation tomorrow, unfortunately it is extensive and he will need to go right in and remove complete ear.
Will keep you updated on her progress.

Hope Anastasia is ok today.  She is so lovely and I have to say (as part of the Paws Inn Naming Committee) that Christine did a great job as she really suits the name.  She is gentle and delicate and just perfect.  She was so pleased to have some gentle strokes yesterday and I was pleased to give them.  I think she is wonderful.

Having two Birmans and a Ragdoll I have to apply sun screen to them. When my vet said just use human sunblock I was in total shock but hey it seems to work and mine have no bad side effects from it.She is so sweet hope she finds a great home

Ah Anastacia is gorgeous.

Without all of your essential advice when I first got Nina, i would never have been as vigilant with the suncream as i am now!

She hates it but i tell her it is for her own good.

The thing that does worry me is whether her previous owner/owners bothered to do it as well?

Aww, she is lovely - and cats dont just need suncream on ears, white noses are susceptible too, and it is harder to deal with when it affects their nose than their ears. How old does the vet think she is T?

Anastasia she is  :thanks: for coming up with such a lovely name.

No, I didn't, she told me through the internet - it's her ineffable name (for those who love T S Eliot)

She looks like a Gem

Our old Moose lost an ear to skin cancer and played this to his best advantage for treats he would turn his head to the no ear side!

I know she will now have the best of care and lots of love :Luv:

You'll be able to get her sorted, though, Teresa?

Another one for the Gourmet Pearl - and she looks like an Anastasia to me!

Just taken this poor girl in and from the looks of things her ear is cancerous and will need surgery.Thought it would be a good idea to remind everyone to apply sunblock to any cat with white ear tips now the warmer weather is here.Too late for this little one (No name yet) but it may help to save others going through such an ordeal.
