Channel 4's Animal Madhouse is launching a national campaign aimed at educating the public on the importance of neutering pets. A survey carried out by the production company (Maverick TV) showed that over a quarter of pet owners had not neutered their animal. Of these, 30 per cent believed that neutering was an unnecessary procedure. More shockingly, 48 per cent of people asked were unaware of the numerous health benefits associated with the procedure.

Importantly, neutering prevents the risk of uterus cancer and infections in females and testicular cancer in males.
By neutering your female animal you prevent them from coming into season. This is a time when they may attract unwanted male attention or become pregnant with unwanted litters.
Neutering male dogs and cats can reduce their urge to roam and prevent them from getting in to fights or being involved in road traffic accidents. It can also reduce their urine marking.
