I Only Wanted You

They say memories are golden

well maybe that is true.

but I never wanted memories,

I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,

a million times I cried.

If love alone could have saved you

you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly,

In death I love you still.

In my heart you hold a place

no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway

and heartache make a lane,

I'd walk the path to heaven

and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken,

and nothing seems the same.

But as we are called one by one,

the chain will link again.

I'm so sorry to hear about Rolo  :( I lost my Tiger to FIP and it's such a wicked disease. Hopefully one day they will find a cure.

I am so very sorry to hear this... I had hoped for so much more for Rolo but sadly suspected this would be the end result. FIP is perhaps one of the most horrid conditions cats can develop and despite the very rare miracle recovery (or misdiagnosis?), almost every story ends exactly the same way as Rolo's story did.  :'(

Please accept my condolences and if you need any further advice or even if you want to talk about Rolo's life, don't forget we are here.

hi julie and everyone on here, I have been putting off writing on here as its very difficult for me to talk about, we decided to have rolo put to sleep after so much improvement and excitement rolo declined rapidly his kidneys failed he gained non regenerative anemia his weight dropped to under 2 kgs he went blind stopped eating all this in a matter of days he had a full vet check monday and by the following tuesday knew it was time. we had a long battle and he was worth it after he regained use of his legs he had 7 ,months as a normal (mostly) cat he enjoyed life and we are so glad we could give him extra time. if his death has brought any more light on fip then at least my vet friends and family will be more clued up I miss him everyday we all do and if I change it I would. he was truly beautiful x

I dont think Rolo would be with you still if he had FIP, but something is going on to stop him putting on weight.

However as long as he doesnt lose anymore and is stable that is positive  ;D

I cant remember how old Rolo is?

Has he been tested for thyroid cos that would probably be the most obvious.

Hello Everyone,

Updates Rolo is doing fantastic and his neurological exam is now normal  lymph nodes normal, alb/glob normal!! What is going on!! AAAHHHHHH sorry needed to get that out its nearly been 5 months and he still isnt reciveing the treatment he needs to help him with what ever may be going on at a lose end his appetite is great but he is so tiny you can feel every bone in his body he weighs 4kg very very tiny for a Male neutered Ragdoll. My vet has now decided he doesnt have FIP but others are saying dont jump before you can walk!

Hope you are well

Feeling very down today we reduced Rolos dose of setriods and he seems a bit worse (very slightly) on his legs so we have put up his dose again. It feels like a kick in the face and I think I need to accept that FIP will win its just a matter of time

This happened with Gwynnie too when we started to reduce the steroids, but it was temporary and just her body adjusting, hope its the same for Rolo

Hoping it is the same for Rolo.
