Too smart for their own good sometimes.

A few weeks ago I came downstairs to find the cork lid off the pasta jar and the jar I keep cat biscuits in, with a few bits of both scattered across the worktop. I thought it odd, but cleared the worktop, threw away the bits and put the lids back on. The jars stayed in the same order on the worktop....the next morning ONLY the cat biscuits were open and there were a couple on the top. A bit of detective work clarified that Darwin had figured out he could hook his claw in a cork lid and open the biscuits..... :evillaugh: The thing is, he had biscuits down - I think he must just like a challenge!

Brilliant!  It never ceases to amaze me what they will steal.  I once caught Jaffa stealing some raw broccoli off the worktop and actually eat it.  I think the fact that he wasn't meant to have it was half the attraction.

Cats loving cakes ....... who knew!!!!  :evillaugh:

Poot thankfully doesn't seem to have a sweet tooth, but like Jo, cakes don't usually last long in our house anyway, poor boy doesn't get a look in

Fortunately cakes do not last long enough around here for the cats to get a look in. But the scones do, at times, seem to have rather more roughened edges than I had expected .... :-: :scared:

Just be thankful you noticed  :evillaugh:

Riley once munched his way through the layer of clingfilm and then the banana loaf underneath that was foolishly left out on the kitchen worksurface - I was not impressed!

I didn't realise cats had such a sweet tooth.  With Geoffrey and his cakeys, and Milly loving her metacam, it seems I was wrong!

Ahhhh what a clever boy.  Zephyr worked out how to open a packet of tea cokes and managed to nibble all round the edges of one  :innocent:    Buying a bread bin soon put a stop to that! lol
In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods; they have not forgotten this.

Geoffrey has worked out that if there is an opened box of bakewell tarts, he can slide the plastic tray out, peel back the plastic wrapper and lick the icing off the tarts

I don't know whether to laugh or cry!

Buy some lemon ones the next time  :evillaugh:

I believe I am not interested to know whether Vivisection produces results that are profitable to the human race or doesn't. To know that the results are profitable to the race would not remove my hostility to it.  Mark Twain
