So I need some roofing felt, right. (Hopefully some kind soul on Freecycle can help.)

It has already been treated, but definitely needs repainting.

And thanks - will drag it to the back door and hoover it!

if it has a sloping roof then I'm sure Julie is right - a good thick layer of roofing felt nailed on is essential

then an exterior wood paint applied if it is already painted - two coats preferably

then if you can place it where it gets some shelter from above, and with the entrance facing away from the direction the rain comes from mostly - and raise it up as much as possible, a paving slab will do, or a piece of decking

as for cleaning inside, I'd get it to the back door and use a vacuum hose

It's like a small dog kennel almost. It's currently a very bizarre pea green colour and the roofing is wooden "planks." (but smaller than planks, hence the inverted commas....)

Cleaning inside it is a lot of fun. :-: The roof doesn't move and the entrance is, well big enough for a cat....

I've spend many hours, and many pounds, trying to create a weatherproof shelter for an outdoor litter tray, JS

can you give me some idea of the design of the shelter, what size it is, and what kind of roof it has, in case it falls into my area of (mostly sad) previous experience?

It is wood yes. Just thought people might know a cheap, good treatment.

is the shelter wood?

if you are talking about reproofing wood, the various cans of treatment should mention specifically if the contents are pet friendly

Depends how big they need it, but I bought a huge tarpaulin in Wilkinson's for £5 - I bought mine so I can shampoo rugs in the garden.

My cousin feeds a cat that visits her dad. The cat has a home but is shut out of it a lot, so she takes up food and her dad puts it out.

I've managed to get them a shelter for the cold weather but it needs waterproofing again before they take it to him.

What's the best thing to use?
