Just thought i would post a little remembrance for my beautiful boy Tommy, who died five years ago today, aged eight.
Dearest Tom; I'd found a lump on your leg, and had agreed to the vet operating to find out what is was. (Which I deeply regret putting you through.)
The vets warned me it was cancer, but i hoped you'd be ok.
You recovered from the op, but the vets were right; you did have cancer, and it was spreading fast, it was in your liver and kidneys and starting in your mouth, thats why you couldn't eat, you, who had always loved your food.
So i made the hardest decision i ever had to make and you were released from your pain with your daddy by your side. (I was so upset, I couldn't come in with you, we said goodbye at home and i waited outside the vets so i'd be near you.)
You hated car rides, but you were quiet, so i knew you wanted to go to the bridge.
I miss you my darling boy, no cat i ever have will come close to you my number one boy, wait for me.
I know you are at peace and are happy up there on the bridge with George and the other animals.
Love you always and forever,
Mummy xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
