Hiya

Sorry for the slight delay in getting back to you all.
H&B are hopefully going to a beautiful sanctuary in Somerset, we made a trip up there yesterday and it is perfect for the boys.
Thank you all so much for your help especially Edd; you've made a stressed lady very happy and hopefully 2 FIV boys a happier chapter in their lives.

thank you, anything is literally worth a try. Much appreciated
Someone suggested a Sanctuary for FIV cats or something along those lines? Does anyone know any further?

Hi Zoe

There is a member of CC that runs a FIV/Felv/ Special needs sanctuary in Somerset.
Here is their website:
http://www.v63.net/catsanctuary/sanctuary.html

Although they say on the website they cannot take anymore cats in at present, might be worth having a chat with them?

Hi Jane,
The boys are back at the RSPCA, I believe the Foster Carer is a full time worker at the RSPCA anyhow, so it proved difficult. I don't think them going back into Foster Care, has been offered again since, which is a crying shame because I believe Barley will make a lovely house cat, Harry will tolerate you and shows his love during feeding time. It won't be easy, but little by little it'll be worth the effort. I'm studying Feline Behaviour & Psychology, so I'm trying to put those methods into time I spend with both of them. For as long as we can't get a reserve and a home or an alternative solution, I don't think the future is looking too good. Someone suggested a Sanctuary for FIV cats or something along those lines? Does anyone know any further?
I have a lady on Cat Chat who's from London and interested but can't make it up to Bath and feels naturally concerned about adopting a cat she's never met! The BC&DH website doesn't give a glowing review of the boys neither, as it's quite an old one. I don't get Barley flying at me any more out of fear and Harry is coming out of his box and sitting in his bed more often in the sunshine, very few hisses (1 hiss last time) and no growls! I guess they both feel restricted and upset in that respect.
We'll (me and their Carer) will do our best to keep them both at the home for as long as possible, but sadly we don't have much say in the end.

Best of luck for them both they are lovely.

Are they still safe with a fosterer or back in rescue but their future uncertain?

These boys can be rehomed together or separately. Barley is more white than ginger and harry is more ginger than white and has "a white shirt."
Both were socialised from a young age via a Trowbridge Factory. Where Harry is independent, Barley is more inquisitive & friendly. Barley is also 3 years of age & loves sausage for good behaviour & cat nip. He has been in foster care & has come along in leaps & bounds. He purrs when contented, meows & licks for attention! He'll sit on me in the need of sausage. Like Harry. He's a sun worshipper. He does scare easily so no children or dogs please! Also set aside a room for him to become used to you & your surroundings; with litter tray & bowls; maybe a pheromone diffuser for comfort or cat nip to reduce any inhibitions.
For more info please email me at nostalgicpushhead@googlemail.com or the http://www.bathcatsanddogshome.org.uk
Harry has responded well to foster care even adopting cute communicative meows and even anticipating a lap, but after 18months of his 3 years of life at Bath Cats and Dogs Home is future is looking uncertain and so therefore they desperately need a home. Harry is accepting of humans and can be stroked, but would rather be left alone to his own devices. He does meow to food, the way to his heart and cat nip! He can be a bit hissy when he doesn't get his own way and is quite depressed being stuck in his pod. Out of the two I feel he's the least likely to be mixed with another FIV cat, though I could be proven wrong.
I am willing to do a cat - run (deliver said cat in a pet traveller to new home) for people who don't live close to Bath or Somerset, though 100 miles max & at no extra cost! This is subject to your local RSPCA home check & donation. Both boys are microchipped, neutered & vaccinated; they don't require any further meds just vet check ups annually.
If anyone knows of any other websites to create a potential owner please let me know or you may have friends interested. Also posted on YourCat Mag forum, Cat Chat Org Forum + Top Cats advert and various Facebook pages
I would love to rehome these chaps but I have a non Fiv girlie. Thank you. Photos to follow:-
PLEASE HELP US! These boys have come along in leaps and bounds. The homes Open Day is the 5th Sept, both Harry and Barley are in the New Cattery. Many thanks
