Re: Got a baby ginger lodger - Got to go to the VET with him
« Reply #54 on: August 18, 2010, 10:07:28 AM »
Last night when I was in bed I heard a crash and thump and it seems that Ginger Man tried to jump from the end of the bed onto the my dressing table.  He seemed fine at the time no crying of anything so I put him back on the bed and went back to the sleep.  Got up this morning and he was curled up in the bottom of the wardrobe looking really sad  .  He had used his litter tray in the night but when I called him for breakfast he didn’t get up!  I picked him for a cuddle and he was purring away as usual but he won’t put any weight on his front leg.  I have checked him all over and there are no obvious breaks so I’m guessing he has just sprained something but I have made an appointment at the vet for 5:50 this evening just to on the safe side.

Poor little man looks so sad and quiet.

Look at that little face in the 2nd pic you posted.  He is saying "please auntie sam, can I stay here?"

No he isn't  :shify:

He is saying "Please mummy don't send me away"  :innocent:

Well FYI and to all those people that don't believe I won't keep him .... I have lined up a new home for the little ginger man (assuming no-one claims him).

One of my mum's friends has offered him a home.  She has two oldies and she recently adopted 2 kittens (sadly one of the kittens got out of the garden and was killed on the road).  They have just spent a small fortune "cat proofing" the whole garden to keep the other little one safe and were thinking of getting a new playmate for him.  So I have said I will keep Pumpkin for 2 weeks and if no-one has claimed him by then .... he will be transported to his new home in the country (it's about 20 mins drive from me).  So even if his parents turn up at a later date he can still be easily transported back.

So good news all round really.

I agree that he looks like a cat who has an owner as he seems well cared for and very friendly.  The lack of microchip is probably just because most people get their kittens chipped at the same time as neutering.  I'd guess he has escaped somehow and got himself lost.  But if no-one claims him, I think little Pumpkin has found himself a home!  Clever boy.

Sorry Sam, I foresee your feline family growing by one. You know it's supposed to be lucky keeping cats that "find" you. (And it's happened to you twice.....  ;))

3 times!!!!!  Rossi (was a sort of find) .... Olly ...... and now Pumpkin

Just got back from the vet and surprise surprise NO microchip  :(

Vet thinks he's about 4 months old!

I think Zephyr is just mouthing off to keep baby in his place.  He hasn't swiped at him or anything just hissed and yowled alot!  :evillaugh:  Zephyr is a typical  "Foreign" ... all mouth.

There's a Lilly Pumpkin. She's a special needs cat and is rather lovely. (See picture - she's one of Blackpool Cats in Cares former residents.)

Sam, do you think Zephyr is really annoyed or just making sure the young 'un stays in line?

Five cats....yep, you could manage that. ;) He is a sweetie and it's great that none of the others are bothered by him.

Zephyr isn't very impressed ..... he keeps Yowling (very loundly) at the poor little soul but Pumpkin isn't bothered at all (which makes me think he is from a multi cat house).

Went home at lunchtime to check that Zephyr hasn't beaten "pumpkin" up.  I needn't have worried everyone was sound asleep ... Ginger Man (aka Pumpkin ;)) was curled up on a jumper in the middle of my bed  :Luv2: :Luv2:

No sign of any posters / flyers yet and still no call.  I put a poster up in the local newsagent and replaced my handwritten notices so we shall see if that prompts any response tonight.  I get the impression that Pumpkin lives with other cats as he is totally NOT phased by my lot and I have a suspicion he knows a tortie / dark cat as he really has a thing for Rossi.  He kept trying to get close to her on the bed last night ... but she was having none of it, and every time she moves he follows her and tries to play with her.

I have added his details to the "lost and found" section and will put him on the NPR and Mymoggy tomorrow if no response tonight.
