That is my gripe with zooplus.  Their packaging has improved as they use stronger boxes now (the parcels I collected from the parcelforce depot on Tuesday were in pristine condition) but the food tends to be all just thrown in a box.  Some is packed in trays with plastic covering them, but most of the tins just roll around inside the box and end up dented.  I ordered 6 400g tins animonda carny and 6 400g tins of something else (can't remember what) and most of them were dented.  The smaller tins seem ok and none of the pouches damaged, but I wish they would secure things better.

One thing I did mean to comment on was the state of some of the foil trays. A lot of the renal food is in foil trays -some of them quite big, 300g. They had put a layer of fat bubble-wrap over the top of the bits but they had obviously been rattling around in the box. A lot of them were squashed out of shape. I had to check none of them were leaking as once the air gets in, they will go bad  :tired:

I just use Google translator, it can translate whole websites (hit and miss but good enough).

I placed an order on Thursday and got a despatch email later that day, hopefully it will be here on Tuesday and the courier puts it in the shed for me as I'm desperate for cat litter and don't want to spend money on any when I've got a 40l bag coming :evillaugh:

Any more you need?

Not at the moment thanks  - the other one was Pute.

Some don't even mention a flavour.

I am sick of the sight of catfood

We usually run the dishwasher once a day but I have been running twice a day this week. The seagulls won't be able to take off soon, they are eating so many leftovers

One of the problems is I ordered all the flavours of each type of renal food.

I can assume Schwein is pork and I guess Hahn is chicken.

Yes to both.  Ente is duck and Pute or Truthahn is turkey.  Any more you need?

I always keep my invoice as the flavours etc. are listed in english on there and sometimes when I get the items and there is no english on the packaging, I don't know what's what!   I don't have a problem with no english labelling though.  Some items have it and some don't.  The website has ingredients for most things in english.  If it doesn't have the english listing for a product you're intersted in, then I guess you need to contact them to ask this information before ordering.  I accept that it's a german company and if I want to buy from there, I can't expect it all to be in english.  If someone from Germany bought pet food from a UK company, the food wouldn't have ingredients in german.  Difficult when you need to check the ingredients and nutritional breakdown, I admit.

Anyone who regularly shops in Lidl or Aldi or even a specialist Deli or in Chinese/Polish supermarkets will tell you that foriegn packaged food is sold without English translations every day. All those shops can't be breaking the law, can they?  :innocent:

Generally the rest of Europe has much stricter rules for food ingredients. AFAIK cat food is not allowed to have any artificial ingredients on the continent and the UK is the only country which allows it. That's why OH can only drink beer brewed abroad as UK beer is packed with artificial stuff and upsets his tummy.  We stock up when we go to France as French cat food is so much more tasty and exciting according to Tilly and Jumpy.  :wow:  :evillaugh:

I believe between European countries no such rules exist

but you knowingly bought from a German company, why would you expect them to use English? are we better than them?

No but if they are selling to other countries, they need to have them marked in the language of that country. How am I supposed to work out the various levels of different ingredients for my chronically ill cat?

It's not as if their website lists things for all items.

because you don't speak German? Did you expect them to speak english?

No but if they are selling goods to the UK, I would expect them to have the packaging in English.

I placed an order today for a scratchpost (as the one I really wanted was supposed to be in stock this weekend and is now showing as out of stock until October  >:() but I haven't even had a confirmation email come through yet to say I have placed an order!! Luckily I did a screen print of the page with my order number on in case of a problem.

Really annoying that some of the items only have German writing on  :tired: - surely they should have a sticker on?

I think I will check with trading standards about it  :shify:

It has just arrived. I will wait until he comes looking for food as he has just had a favourite that I went out for this morning. Whiskas senior in gravy - whitefish flavour.

They are probably having to arrange an armed escort for your delivery Mark, what with all the chav's and delinquents round your way.

:evillaugh:

It isn't McDonalds or KFC so they wouldn't recognise it as food  :evillaugh:

Thanks everyone. Looks like our poorly boy is going to have to wait  :(

Thanks.

When I ordered, I looked for an express option but there wasn't one. I thought it came from a UK warehouse now?

I had a confirmation email yesterday saying my parcel has been despatched. I checked this morning but there is no info on my consignment number?  :tired:

I am desperate to get Clapton's other renal food - he may be back at the vets this morning as he isn't eating again  :(
