He is lovely, how are the intros going with the Corporal?
Interestingly...
I was lucky enough to have got him from a fabulous and very understanding rescue. They let me foster him for two weeks before formally adopting him. He was packed off to mine with a pack of Zylkene and a lot of advice.
We kept him in the spare room for a few days to get used to his surroundings and then gradually swapped scents before allowing the two cats to meet. We've had a fair few shouting matches and boxing but no "real" fighting. The noises they make are awful though and it's been a very testing time!
We found that Felifriend is ace and I highly reccommend it for cats who aren't used to being lovingly handled.
Now things are settling down but Smokey has stopped being naughty and kind of turned into a quiet, loving cat. I feel kind of guilty about that and I want to see him misbehaving again. My best example of that is he used to come and jump up and down on me and stick his tail in my face to make me sneeze/wake up/feed him in the mornng but now he sits on the windowledge watching the birds whilst Chester does the shouting. I've ordered some Feliway in the hope that it'll make him comfortable enough to go back to naughtiness but I have a feeling this is the new Smokey.
Another schoolgirl error I made was spoiling him with yummy food and treats. He's had the occasional less-than-solid poop for some time now so we're back to Sensible 33
Pictures soon and I'll add some of Mr Smokey too
eta: since you're here Gillian (or other persian experts) I'm having trouble finding treats for Smokey as he seems to have trouble picking them up with his flat face (and he doesn't really make an effort). Any tips? I'll be trying Dreamies soon but I'm not sure he'll even go for them! He was on a fairly strict sensitive diet for ages due to a runny bum so now he just doesn't seem that bothered and I'd like to spoil him too
