Good luck for the second opinion - it can take a while for the fur to grow back, Rolo and Molly still have shorter fur from where their necks were shaved for bloods, they were done in Dec and Jan respectively. Tigers fur took ages after her ultrasound.

Ahhh glad to hear Teoh (aka Baldy) is doing OK

Fingers crossed the 2nd opinion will throw a bit more light on the situation.  With regards to the fur regrowth it's hard to say but I think about 6 weeks or so if my memory serves me right when the girls were spayed!

Sending lots of love and cuddles to Teoh and Howard  :Luv2: :Luv2:

Hi Sam

The patient is on top form and looking very content  :thanks:

We are waiting for a second opinion on his MRI scan, the expert who is doing it on her hols but will be back on the 22nd and hopefully will take a look and may be able to help him further

I wonder how long it takes for fur to grow back?

His back is looking very sorry for itself, good job he is a house cat or he may have got sunburnt today!

Howard says hello!!!

Poor Teoh  I'm afraid I don't know anything about the suggestions the vet has put forwards.  It might be worth your while starting a new thread in 'Health & Behaviour' with an appropriate title to see if anyone has had a similar experience or previous knowledge.

Please give Howard a gentle head kiss from me, his fur will soon grow back and meanwhile you can gice him lots of skin kisses instead of fur kisses  :Luv:

:thanks: to you all for being so lovely x

Teoh has had a pretty rotten day he has had his MRI scan and a spinal tap/CSF today

The poor little boy is slumped at home right now still very dozey from his sedation

Look what they have done to his fur  :(

The vet said that they have unfortunately found 2 areas of concern in his brain and his spine, they say they do not look like 'obvious' tumors, but they are sending them off to the lab for a second opinion along with some more blood tests...

She mentioned an increased signal at T1 and T2 of his spine and a slight enhancing/swelling in the pituitary area of the brain

Does anybody here know what this could be please or had a cat with a similar diagnosis?

Worried sick  :( :( :(

Poor little boy, hope he will be mended soon

He will be getting all of your hugs and cuddles all over again when he wakes up tonight  :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:

Hi Deb & Jules,

For some reason I had missed all the recent photos and news on Teoh!  But I'm back upto speed now .... the pics of the boys are fabulous - I love the one of Howard snoozing  :Luv2:

So sorry to hear that Teoh has been "poorly" and fingers crossed the MRI will get to the bottom of the problem.

Sending big hugs to you both and lots of cuddles and snuggles to the boys.

Poor little Howard  :(  Really hope you can get to the bottom of it, as far as I know Epilepsy is controllable in cats it's just a case of gettingthe correct dosage of meds - you can cross that bridge if and when you come to it.

On a happier note, Teoh looks as stunning as ever despite his trauma, I love that he has his very own model car too  :)

Oh Debs, Jules. You poor things.

I hope Teoh is ok today.

I know it can't be pleasant to see it. I've been there, with a pup I had many years ago. It's heartbreaking I know.

You have done well so far and I hope the MRI scan proves something that can be treated.

Sleep tight xx

Thank you Desley and Suzanne

Yes, I feel very sorry for Jules as he witnessed the whole episode, last time I just found Teoh twitching at the foot of the stairs but had no idea what had really happened  :scared:

Teoh is home and will be having an MRI scan next week. the vets said that he will need to be sedated to go through the tunnel still as the scan will not photograph properly if he moves, poor baby

We feel he has epilepsy as Jules has found a lot of information on the internet last night and it seems to be identical to Teoh's symtoms

They need to rule out brain tumors though, so fingers crossed

They are very cagey at the vets... but I guess they must be certain before they offer us a diagnosis just in case they get it wrong

Here he is with a little bandage on his leg as he has been fed with a drip again, poor boy was ravenous when he arrived home this morning

Sooooo glad he is home and so is Howard, he was lost without his big brother last night to play with  :(

Off for a quick snooze now, haven't slept very much since yesterday

 :thanks: all x x x

Poor Teoh, and what a worrying time for you both.  I hope the vet can come up with some ideas as to why this is happening, and that it can be treated.  It must be horrible watching a much loved furry having seizures like that

I have a little ginger boy, he was a bottle fed from last year (from a gypsy site)

He is mainly spotted rather than striped- he's a mischievous little devil :naughty:

Well,

Unfortunately Teoh had another 'incident' today....

Luckily for him I was at Debs house when it happened, unluckily for me I witnessed the whole episode  :(

Truly horrific to hear your pet make such distressing sounds whilst having what I can only descirbe as a 'seizure'...he then collapsed and couldn't move, with his tongue hanging out, panting again :(

He's back at the vets again over night, more tests have all proved negative (blood/ammonia levels seem fine) next is an MRI scan.

Any ideas what an MRI might pull up?

 :thanks: for any replies x

Good News and Bad here Ruth

Howard say that he would very much like a visit to the Queen Lexy palace, but ahem he is rather particular in his requirements...

He states that in order to keep up his image he will need a helicopter to collect him please. He requests that he would like to have an entire wing of Lexy's palace at his disposal. He would like a welcome jacuzzi bath complete with a bowl of caviar and finest champagne  :evillaugh:

Bless, he had no chance, look at his Father and it's no wonder Howard has Lord Snooty genes  ;D

Oh poor Lady Lexy, that does sound painful, you must have been very worried too  :(

Glad she is better now and I hope she is back to ruling her kittydom in Splendor

Zephyr and Howard are both aristocats!!!

Howard has the most 'Lord-Snooty' face going bless him

Teoh is more of a street-fighter Chuck Norris kind of cat lol

I put it down to their genetics (different Dads, same Mum) rather than the way we have brought them up  :evillaugh:
