Just looked up the ingredients on Mysupermarket and smoked salmon is about 2.5% salt, 0.5% is classed as high for a human! Noah goes mad for raw bacon but I only ever let him have the tiniest bit (except when he helps himself ). Claire cats cannot digest vegetable oils AFAIK.
Next time, I'll maybe soak it in water before giving it to the cats to try and wash some of the salt out. Funnily enough I've never given the cats bacon due to the salt content but never really thought about it for the salmon.
Never knew that about the oils either, will it be harmful if it can't be digested? I've read a lot of people mentioning that they feed their cats fish in oil as a treat
It's always been about a teaspoon, and most of the oil has been squeezed out maybe once a week or every couple of weeks. I wouldn't want to keep doing it if it's going to be bad for them though, have you got any links or anything about the oils being bad?
