Ella came to us after she was hit by a car and her owner could not afford to treat her.
She sustained a large number of injuries and it has taken nearly a month to restore her to full health.
When she first came into care the vets quickly realised that she had a broken pelvis and got straight to work repairing the break as well as patching up her other cuts and bruises. The surgery went well but she seemed to be struggling to walk still and so they investigated further
and found that she also had a small fracture on one hip. This normally would have healed by itself but as her broken pelvis had been repaired the fracture had been pulled further apart and it was causing her a lot of pain. The added difficulty was that the fracture was on a weight bearing surface and so to leave it alone was risking Ella suffering life-long mobility problems.
The vets decided to try a procedure that involved removing the ball from the ball and socket joint in the hip and fusing the bones together.
This surgery went very well and Ella is now pain free and walking well.
This little cat has been through so much to still be here with us and really deserves the best home she can find!
