Is it the same rescue tiny came from? If so can you ask for her history to help make a better judgement. All cats sleep alot but oldies more so  :Luv2: could you adopt another oldie, they are much more likely to ignore each other! If you go younger i'd say over 4 as thats a good age to see a cats real temperament, some youngsters will respect an oldie others will see it as a good opportunity to take over!

I think there is a bit too much of an age gap, I only adopt oldies, and I also foster, and mine have never accepted anything under the age of 2, as they are too full of energy for them. Do you know if Tiny has ever lived with other cats, as if she hasn't, at her age I wouldnt introduce another cat to her
Please spay your cat

Company wise, I felt better knowing Hamish and Misty were in the house together when I was out at work the whole day

Not Sure about getting a young whipper snapper as a companion for an old girl

I.E. Newe furbabe being very active and wanting to play all the time as opposed to elderly cat's sleeping more

I had the same conundrum when I lost Hamish and was offered Olivia, but then I just thought along the lines of the above mentioned and declined

then I discoverwed that Persians Sleep a lot of the day too  and aren't exactly overflowing with an abundance of energy  :evillaugh:

But I still feel I made the right decision in not taking Her, so I could concentrate all my attention on My wee Mannie Misty for the time he had left

I'd like more Cat's but I have a funny Feeling Olivia won't  Last time I was home I asked Olivia's previous Mum " If Olivia got on with Her
other Persians in the House ?? She said apart from Olivia's son being a complete  :censored: to her, she wasn't too fussed with the other two and
Prefered to Be by Herself  :(

will just have to wait and see

anyway's, back to the topic  :evillaugh:

This is My personal thought's on this, but you know Tiny better than anyone here  :sneaky: at the end of the day " nothing ventured, nothing gained  ;) "

Is there anything happening (behaviourally) to suggest that Tiny is lonely?  There's always the danger of thinking of a cat too much in 'human' terms - cats aren't pack animals and don't often need to socialise with other cats.  Having said that, there is one of my three whom I think benefits from the company of the other cats... the other two would be quite happy (perhaps happier) on their own.

Given Tiny's age it is probable that she sleeps during the day if you're not there.  There is a big gap between 14 years and 18 months, too, and the liveliness of a youngster might stress or annoy her.  If you do decide to offer a home to another cat, I'd go for an older one who is demonstrably laid back with other cats.

We have had her 2 years. My boyfriend thinks she may be lonely in the house on her own during the day. We would like another cat, but don't want to upset Tiny.

You dont say how long you have had Tiny but if she has been with you for 14 years as a lone cat, I suspect she may not be happy with company.

Why do you think that Tiny wants company?

Hello

I have already asked this question before, while we were at a cat sanctuary today, we saw a cat that we think would be great company for our cat Tiny.
Tiny is 14 this year and active. The new cat is 18 months old, apparentl gets on with other cats and loves cuddles and sits on laps, he is simliar to Tiny but she only cuddles for a while, but does not sit on laps. Anybody got any thoughts on whether our cat is likely accpet this new cat, etc etc?

Thanks
