Pressure sores

thanks very much.     The pressure sore did improve considerably with just the vet bed but Candie was put to sleep on Monday as she took a turn for the worse with her CRF.

I have heard that evening primrose oil is great for pressure sores on joints. Just rub it on.

thanks I hope so too.      She's a special old girl as she was my mum's cat.       Also I only ever bred two litters of persians and she was the first baby from the first litter.

yes she does walk normally [not that she walks far - she doesn't move far from the kitchen!].    Its on the rear of the knee joint.

Does she still walk normally? If she has a flatter walk on her hind legs it can be potassium related. Strange she chooses hard places to sit when theres soft options!

Thanks I've never heard of it before either despite having many elderly cats over the years.     I know they can be really problematic in old people and just hoping that it won't be such a problem in a cat!     Luckily she's accepting the vet bed in her favourite spots now, whereas earlier she would find herself another hard surface to settle on!

Candie my 14yr old colourpoint persian who has CRF now has a nasty pressure sore on one of her hind legs.       Anyone had any experience of these?    We've put soft bedding everywhere she likes to sleep [normally she just likes to sleep on the computer or the kitchen worktops!].       We've got some fuciderm to put on her leg and she was given a jab as well.     

Any other suggestions welcome
