Possibly HCM - http://www.fabcats.org/hcm/ - the scan will tell you more. If it does turn out to be something like that, there is a useful Yahoo heart group http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/feline-heart/ with lots of experienced people who will be able to help with any questions you have. My Sam has HCM and I got lots of help from the group when he was first diagnosed. He's nearly 13 now and its been 2 yrs since his diagnosis and so far we are managing his condition quite well.

Heart murmur

Jack went to the vet for suspected cystitis and when she checked his heart she said he had a heart murmur. His mum had it and it didn't effect her but she died of FIP at 2 and a half so we don't know if she would have had problems later. His sister also had it and she died from heart failure at 16 months. Jack is going for a scan in two weeks when the right vet is in but in the short term what conditions might I be looking at that are congenital and killed Jasmine so quickly but has so far not had any effect on Jack.
