Such sad news - and we were all so excited about their arrival too.

This must be very hard for you, this sadly is the true face of rescue. With all the joys they bring there is always sadness too. :(

Be kind to yourself, all the best for the rest of the day. I only hope she has at least one live kitten to love and nuture.

She does not appear to be in any discomfort and we both believe she gave birth naturally so don't want to do ceasarian unnecessarily.  She is sleeping at the moment so I am going to spend the day with her.   Any sign of problems and I will get her to the hospital asap.

Oh how awful for you Lesley, and poor Meow Meow   :'( Couldn't the vet have done a ceasarian (sp) to get the other/others out, just in case?

Only sad news so far I am afraid :'(.  Stayed up with her until about 7am then decided to get an hours sleep.

When I came back in she had a kitten by her side but still completely in the sac.  Tried to revive it but it was gone.  Heard the meows of another kitten and found it buried underneath her.  All seemed well, until I managed to get a good look and most of her intestines were on the outside of her body.

Rushed both mum and kitten to the vet but there was nothing we could do for the little one, so I had to let her go in my hand - one of the hardest things I have ever done,  How do you get so attached to something so small that is ony minutes old. :(

My vet thinks she still has more inside so have got her back home and comfortable and will have to wait and see. :tired:

She seems very uncomfortable this morning, not wanting to lay on her belly at all, but on her side.  She is drinking quite alot but I suppose that is just the weather today.

I have taken the crate down as she would never go in it and it was taking up too much room.  Have supplied her with a lovely wicker basket and a large dog carrier with a heated bed (it's turned off at the moment though), covered over to make it nice and dark and quiet.  She didn't show any interest in either of them in the last few days.  Hunted around because I thought I had a feliway spray but can't find it anywhere.  So I sprayed it with catnip spray and within two minutes she was inside.  Just a minute ago she had made herself very comfy in it but is now back to her favourite position of on her side in the middle of the floor.  Kittens seems to be playing football inside today.

I would be surprised if she made it past the weekend and has about 3-5 kittens but, I am probably wrong. :innocent:

I think some of your dates may be a bit too distant.  Just sat watching Miaow Miaow as she is having a rest and her belly is moving like there is a boxing match going on in her tummy   It looks a bit like something out of an alien film when you see the monster moving around inside someone :evillaugh:

She's a very pretty girl - great news about the people having her back too as mums can be so difficult to rehome.

Kitten season is very slow here in our area (South Devon) We wondered if it was the harsh winter? Fortunately there doesn't seem to be the mad panic there was this time last year.

Hope all goes well with her - I'm opting for 17th June 1 tortie, 3 black !!!

That's very precise Angie.  Seeing my litters seem to follow your litters, have you had a load like that recently.

I meant the shape of her side/belly in the first pic and that distinctive goat-like parting of the fur, hard to explain but my first thought was goat!  :Luv:

Bless, she reminds me of a goat in that first pic  :naughty:  :Luv: How long do you think she has to go Lesley?

You must have some strange goats in your part of the world

Vet reckons she has two to three weeks to go but she seems quite large in the belly to me.  That said, I thought the first pregnant cat I had in was going to give birth any minute due to her size, and she went on for a further month  so I am certainly no expert.

Well, things seem to have been slow down in the South this year, but I have my first pregnant cat of the year.

She was being fed by a very nice couple for the past couple of weeks and they have said they are willing to give her a lovely indoor home after she has weaned her kittens, so that is good.

She was a bit hesitant of me at first but came to me immediately I called "Miaow Miaow", so she chose her own name is now called "Miaow Miaow".

The pictures really do not do her justice or show the size of her belly so the competition can now start of when? how many? and what colours?
