Hi there,
Firstly i am sorry your little baby Mister is missing :-( i know exactly how you feel. I used to live in wilpshire up until a couple of months ago, we moved shortly after we got Puddles back. There was another report of a cat being shot, that actually lived around the corner from us, and the article i posted was from Darwen. I think you are a fair few miles from where i lived and so i wouldnt be too concerned about the shootings, the person responsible we think was very local and was personally trying to dispose of local cats because they were a nuisance. Plus, you will drive yourself mad if you think every negative thought. I informed blackburn cat rescue, and the local RSPCA at the time so they are well aware of the case. My cat was dumped in ribchester the same night she went missing, so the person who injured her had to have a vehicle, it wasnt kids.
The lady who runs blackburn cat rescue is really helpful and full of good ideas, if you havent spoken to her yet i would definitely recommend it. The RSPCA team in altham are brilliant also, they displayed my posters and were really supportive.
Unfortunately i only had my Puddles back for five months, she wasnt the same after she got shot. We thought she had settled really well in our new home so we had been letting her go outside again for weeks and things seemed great. Until we let her out last weekend and she hasnt been home since. I've taken the necessary steps and informed pet log, but i am just trying to tell myself she is most likely sitting on someone elses sofa, and that she'll be home when she can. In all honestly with the circumstances i'm grateful i had any time with her, things could have been much worse if that bullet had caused more serious damage. Dont let this get you down tho, we have to remain postive for our little angels!
Mister is absolutely gorgeous, i'm sure he will be back soon, just like my Puddles!
I have everything crossed for you
