wonderful love those cats Gillian [but I am biased  :naughty:]

Great scratch post as well.      I ordered another post from kalven at weekend.     The cats have one big one and one small one by the front door.     I was going to get the small one refurbished as it was looking a bit tatty but OH said they could have a new one.      The old one will be going in the spare bedroom.

Thanks  :thanks: - the cats kept a low profile after the swearing started LOL! especially when I realised I'd fixed one bit the wrong way round which meant it didnt line up with the pre-drilled holes and had to remove a bit that had just taken me ages to screw on  :tired:

wonderful photos of your stunners Gillian esp Joe pointing out where the next bit should go  :)  We had to build our Kalven mostly upside down and that didn't prevent alot of use during the build  :)

Its good old Kalven,  http://www.kalven.co.uk/pagoda.htm - they are definitely substantial (wooden posts, solid bases and fully carpeted in a colour of your choice!  :) )

Building the new cat tree
« Reply #1 on: March 21, 2010, 22:14:29 PM »
With a little help from my friends....... ;) This is a late (very late!) xmas present from mum and it replaces the old cat tree (12 yrs plus!) which, structurally is still sound, but looking very tatty and seeing as I'm decorating the lounge, well, fraid the old one had to go (its not going completely - it will be used somewhere else  ;) ) . So, after a lot of swearing, one broken drill bit, aching arms and back, the new one was finally built. (the drilling was for castors on the bottom, because once its built its to heavy to move otherwise - you know, when you need to hoover underneath and stuff!). Its the same model as the old one, because they all loved that one and there are spaces for 5 cats (although they often double up LOL!

All laid out ready to put together - Gwynnie and Joe already bagged their beds!

Up to the next level, Joe helpfully sits on the bit that is only just balanced there and not fixed yet!

Think theres a bit goes here says Joe!

BB is first in the finished tree

Closely followed by Sam

Not quite full house yet!

So why is he still sitting on the old one?  :evillaugh:
