Vet thinks Leo has painful joints!! He had full bloods and is remarkably fit for his age and no problems with bloods. So he is on Metacam and some new joint recovery tablets for a while to see if he perks up. He has failed to eat much today as well, but apparently if cats feel pain they do not eat much.. he seems brighter today and has ventured into the garden. His coat is glossy and no problems with anything internal..

Just getting on abit!! If this works he may be on meds to help..
Anyhow i nearly keeled over with a 126.00 pound bill. Thanks goodness he is insured.

Around 10 yrs ago Leo suffered a very severe broken pelvis due to someone kicking him.. He was lucky not to loose a leg.. But he has coped very well with this and you would nt realise that he had such a major op on his leg to fix it.. It needed 2 operations. So i suppose the weakness in that joint has caused this and its to be expected in a older cat i suppose..

Anyhow will see if we can get him eating abit more when the meds kick in

Poor Leo.  I hope he perks up soon.  I can sympathise with him about lack of motivation at the moment.  It hasn't put me off my food though.  :)

My Leo has been abit under the weather for the last few days. He does not eat much and sleeps alot.. I have managed to get him outside a few times and he seems fine and enjoys a bit of a walk, but its a sruggle to get him motivated. He seems to be using the tray okay and does eat a litte but no where near his usualy perky self.. Just sits by the fire and nods off..

So i have the hingsight to book him in the vets for Monday under the impression if he gets perkier i can cancel it..
I wonder if this may be related to his infection a few wks back that cleared up with antibotics.. Although he seems to be using the tray fine..

His eyes seems okay and he does respond to his name, so maybe just a blip in his general good health. Fingers crossed.. I will open some tuna today to see if that makes a difference. He did eat some sardines on Friday and a bit yesterday and is drinking .

All very strange.
