I thought that might happen sowon't risk it. I tried it the other day with his other favourite - Hi-life pork & game and he was having none of it  :evillaugh:

I wouldnt mix anything with it cos he will get put off and you will be back to square one.

I tried this with Kocka and put medicine on her very fav freshly cooked chick and it was months before she would touch it agai.  :'(

I have spent a fortune on prescription food - I don't begrudge him but if he won't eat it, what can I do?

I have tried every catfood under the sun but he seems to prefer the 19p chicken slop.

I will attempt to mix some prescription in with it but I don'r want to put him off a food he enjoys.

He seems so much happier now  :Crazy:

I will keep giving him a mix of senior & tesco and see how he is when the tests are done again. I will push the vet re binders and maybe change vets if need be  :evillaugh:

Yay!!!

I Agree with Lynn - more than once I have opted not to use prescription food cos I would rather them have quality of life rather than quantity. And as his is so early, you might find that mainly wet food (less work for the kidneys) and the meds (can't think of the name am afraid!!) will be fine for a while.

mark thats great to hear..and yes certainly sounds like he has extra energy or perhaps just happy he's been given food he likes.

The way i see it is the best thing is prescrip diets etc BUT whats the point of giving him extra 5 years or whatever if he's going to be miserable  coz he hates his food.  You have tried very hard and i know you'll keep trying but i'd give him a couple of weeks off i think and let him have his tescos pouches.

Brilliant news! At the end of the day Tesco pouches are better than nothing and if he likes them and it makes him feel better then that's great. Go Clapton!!  ;D ;D ;D

For the last few months, he hasn't done much else than sleep on the couch, eat (occasionally) and go outside for 5 minutes once in a while. Lat night he suddenly perked up and was jumping on wet paint and wanting a fuss. As soon as I got up this morning, he was after food and ate 2 pouches. He has been mooching around upstairs and now asleep on willow's chair - this hasn't happened since octoberish - Maybe he is feeling better? - The strange thing is, I have been feeding him basic tesco pouches for the last 2 days and he is going mad for them. I wonder if maybe his energy levels are up?
