If pick up at Barnsley is at around 2pm, wont that make the final leg Northampton to Surrey quite late?

No problem with us for Saturday but - but can't meet at Barnsley junction until 2pm, is that ok?

Please consider the harder to home cats in rescue.

Pickup - M1 Barnsley area (Jct 36 or 37) - Sootyca - let me know which is easiest junction and where as I haven't a clue where anything is round there - I'm an M6 girl!
M1 Barnsley - M1 (Jct24) Nottingham - Janeyk
Nottingham - Northampton - Sam (Fussyfurball)

Sam will then take this one to his new home and meet up with Edd to get Pumpkin on her way for the final leg of the journey.

Cat carriers - will they travel with their own or do we need to arrange changeovers en route?

I would be *hoping* to have them both collected and be on the way by about 9am - this would get me to M1 about 10.30am all being well.

Are we okay for this Saturday?  Have the current kitty fosterers and new kitty owners been checked with to make sure Saturday is okay for them?

Good point, thanks Edd! Will let Sam know on the other thread....actually thinking about it I'm not sure two carriers will fit in her car. :scared:

Hi

I am doing Northampton to Banstead part of the journey and I have the numbers for the lady adopting Pumpkin.

Does Sam know that Pumpkin is also to be transported? I can then arrange to meet her in Northampton (J15a Northampton service station looks a good place or wherever she thinks is good)

Sootyca will take Pumpkin to Nottingham with the other cat?

So are we sorted now and just have to agree times?

Pumpkin should be fine. Am still having trouble organising the other little one, though. Can ask on Facebook about the leg in question - Nottingham to Northampton, right?

I'd prefer not to do it all (it's a 6 hour round trip!) but if there is no other option then I will do.

Can someone check that both cats will be okay to travel this Saturday (weather permitting!)?

We still need that bit then? So, it's Sootyca who needs the address in Preston that's right, isn't it? And Edd already has contact numbers for the other end.

Hi Sootyca

So failing any further offers, you will be able to take the other cat to its new home in Northampton and then meet up with me to transfer Pumpkin so I can get her to Banstead.

That would be great - you are a star.

Yep, we still need a Nottingham to Northampton or somewhere on M6 - Northampton if that is easier.  Failing that I will do the full run to Northampton as it will only add an extra 30 minutes onto the journey each way.  Moira usually helps out in this area but I know she posted yesterday that she had had a stressful time recently so don't really want to bother her.

Looking at the other thread - do we still need someone to do from Nottingham to Northampton?

Hi

Yes I could do from Northampton to Banstead. However if you get someone to do Nottingham to Northampton on the other run and they are happy to come further down that would be ok as well.  :)

Definitely could be combined.

Edd, could you do the whole of the last run or is that too much?  There's no pressure, just trying to get an idea of what is needed.  I'm trying to sort with Janeyk about the first leg.  Ideally for me it would be this Saturday (or Sunday but that's not suitable for Edd).  After that it would be the last weekend in Feb as I am away on the 20th/21st.

OK, so the two runs could be put together?

Hi

Northampton to Banstead just under 100 miles but a straight run M1/M25.

If it was going to be a weekend - saturdays are ok for me but sundays am busy.

We could almost possibly combine the two journeys as this one would be doing a similar trek to the other...albeit with a bit added on at the other end!

She could go down the M6, across to the M1 and Northampton before going on down to the M25 and on to her destination.

I can do the first leg of the journey from Preston to somewhere on the M6.

Hi

I am very near Banstead and also M25 and could help with part of the journey. Happy to go up the M25 to reach other motorways to get to a handover place if the northern end can be sorted.

Not sure who's been following this little one - but am pleased to say a very experienced sounding lady has come forward and offered Pumpkin a home.  :) Any help's appreciated.
