Reflective collar are indeed hard to find my Leo had a lovely Kitty collar in bright yellow until a few weeks ago, then he lost it and now I had to find another, with tag and everything. The kitty collars ones are abit expensive especially for two. Its just a matter of googling I think, but when you find them buy a stock, thats what I say.

Would echo Lynn's advice - we use Marla's collars - got a reflective one for Paddy and they're brilliant.

Our vet gives new customers a canac elasticated collar. I questioned him about it saying they weren't safe. He said that they elstic snaps easily and demonstrated one. I wasn't convinced as it took a bit of a yank to break it.

Wilkinsons do have a pretty good range of collars with breakaway fastenings.

Do you have a Wilkinsons or Range near you - both have good collar selections, and both have breakaway ones - Molly has one from the Range, and she has left it on the bed more than once, and it does come off at lot easier than the PAH ones!!

Thanks for the recommendation - always good to know where to buy by word of mouth I find!

My husband has just remembered that it's the company called Canac which used to sell the reflective collars, but for some weird reason I cannot find their website (would have thought they would have had one) - but all I can find are reflective flea collars (which we dont want) from them.

Have found the sort we have now on ebay, but it's not payday till Thursday!

Hey Scattycat

I buy all my collars from Marla at Kitty Collars - they are fantastic safety collars with the breakaway clasp.
Marla sells a range of the reflective ones too  ;)

Reflective cat collars - cannot find no more?
« Reply #1 on: March 24, 2007, 23:35:21 PM »
We used to buy our cat collars (the break away type) with reflective bits in the collar in a line from Pets at Home.

We'd like to replace them with new ones (as they're getting a bit tatty and the reflectiveness isnt as good), but P@H are no longer selling them, and I cannot for the life of me remember what the company who sold them was called (so I can see if we can get them anywhere else).

All I can remember is that the picture on the front of the cardboard piece was of a black cat, and that the collars came in red, blue and black, and had 1cm long, 0.5cm wide strips of reflective material in the collar.

If I cant find this company can anyone recommend a good break away type reflective collar?

Many thanks
