Thanks, both of you - He does still go out, even when it's below zero.  He's grown his thicker coat, but I guess I'll try giving him a bit extra and then cut it back a bit when the warmer weather returns.

Unless your heating is on 24.7 there will be cold times of the day and night and depending where you live, very cold times so his fur should be getting thicker and he probably will need some extra morsals  :innocent:

My Misa has grown his ruff , as has Sasa but they keep going outside and saw Misa sitting in the snow last night and it was bitter. No wonder he has such a thick coat!

Hi all - it's quite a time since I've been on here........too busy getting Percy acclimatised to home living as opposed to rescue runs!! Now I have a question - do our darlin fur-babes need increased quantities of food in the cold weather?  For the last few weeks, Percy never seems satisfied with his 'usual' daily diet of 2 pouches plus 1 bowl of dried (split between two meals, plus a 'top-up' of dried at night).  I de-wormed him last week, (he was a week overdue) in case some unwelcome visitors were lurking inside his gut - but it doesn't seem to have made any difference - he's still very vocal and 'mithering' me!  I don't want to think that I'm starving him, but at the same time I don't want to be over-feeding him so he puts on weight.  At the moment, he still has a lovely 'waist'..... :)
